Great location
Reviewed 10 hours ago

This property needs some attention. The staff was friendly and accommodating however, the room was well below standard. Stained and worn chairs and tables. Obviously older bed/linen. Broken shower curtain rod, mold on the ceiling above the shower. In general a bit tired.
But it is a Great Location!

Wonderful!

Hotel was wonderful and staff absolutely fabulous - especially Naquan Kelly, Front Desk Supervisor, who helped us with every need from our first day to the last. Rosie in housekeeping was delightful and extremely helpful. Thoroughly our bartender who went out of his way to keep all the guests satisfied!

very good location but need refurbishing

This hotel is very conveniently located and nicely staffed but rooms need refurbishing: they look old and dated and borderline dirty (carpet, doors around knobs...) Breakfast could have more choice and breakfast staff could be more efficient.

Bad hotel, good location
Reviewed 4 days ago

We tend to stay at Doubletree Hotels a lot with our family because they accommodate kids well and have spacious rooms/suites. This was far below the standards of a Doubletree.
Pros: good location, friendly front desk staff and bartender.

Cons: filthy, outdated, tight room space, noise. Bathroom had mild and mildew in the corners and the tub didnt drain, so as you shower, the water just builds up. The furniture was so old and dilapidated that I made my kids sit on towels if they were on a chair or couch (see photo of chair as example). The closet was TINY and there was nowhere else to put a suitcase... so our luggage was downstairs and the bed and bath were upstairs... quite inconvenient.
Then there was the noise. EVERY MORNING AT 6-7AM, the hotel garbage gets picked up for about 35-45min. The unbelievable noise from the dumpsters and beeping when the trucks kept backing up for horrific. It woke us up every day and ruined our sleep (we were on west coast time, so this was 3-4am for us). When I complained to the front desk. They said, "oh, you must be in room 267, it's really loud but we cant do anything about it". What?!?!? You KNOW about this and you put me in that room anyway?
Horrible hotel. Won't be back.

Double Tree - very close to Charleston Market
Reviewed 4 days ago

Nice hotel. I wanted a room that would accommodate 3 people in separate beds so the Double Junior Suite was perfect. Property was nice, and overall clean. Close to Charleston Market and horse/buggy tours. Short walk to King Street shopping. I would have preferred to stay closer to Marion Square but not rooms available.
One complaint was the cleanliness of the shower and the slow drain. I did not report the problem.
