How to Get There
We love Beaufort and the Rhett House Inn. It is only about three blocks from the Main Street and the Marina. We had rooms 19 and 20. These rooms are located in the Newcastle house which is part of the property. If you have a couple you like to travel with then book these two rooms. What you get is the whole house to yourselves. The house is beautiful and we spent most of are time in the big screened in porch.
What a breakfast and evening cake/pie all engineered by Chef Beverly. Amy settled me in and couldn’t do enough to make me comfortable. Even helped me with my tomatoe plants that I started from seed and were my traveling companions to the Adirondacks. Brandy was very helpful moving the plants to a new room.
We had the opportunity to visit the Rhett House again Last week and I can’t say enough about the Inn or the staff! Everyone is wonderful, welcoming and so very friendly.
When we arrived, I said “Hi guys, we’re home”. We met the new girl at the front desk, Laura and she fits right in with the rest of the staff. Making us feel right at home and so ready to help.
Unfortunately I only got to see Aimee for a short time because our trip was only 2 days this time. But she is still as sweet and inviting as ever. When you visit The Rhett House, and I hope you do, you’ll understand that it’s so wonderful that the only thing wrong is that you have to leave 😢
The Inn is beautiful and full of charm. Very clean with lovely bedding and furnishings. You’ll feel like you stepped into another place in time. Although we were busy doing lots of things, we were able to snack on some cheese and crackers during the social hour before dinner which was very nice.
Breakfast is always delicious with a variety of items to choose from and made fresh to order. Our server, Shandlyn was very friendly and efficient. Always ready with our tea and coffee and friendly chit chat.
One thing you don’t want to miss is the desert. From 7 to 9 pm Karen, who I’m sure was a dear friend in another life, makes THE BEST lemon pound cake. I never liked lemon cake but this is like a bit of heaven!
I missed it the first night and as we were leaving to go to the beach in the morning, she came out to our car with 2 beautiful pieces for us to enjoy at the beach. She is the sweetest person and has a way of making you feel like you’ve know her forever.
Her pecan pie and key lime pies are also delish!!!! I made sure to not miss the lemon cake on our last night!!!
I know this sound too good to be true but once you visit you’ll understand. This is a very special place. When you go tell everyone hello from me and give Karen a big hug. You’ll just want to. I promise❣️
We stayed for 2 nights at the Rhett House Inn and couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We stayed in room #9 and loved being able to easily come and go off the beautiful porch. The Inn is close to everything and yet at the same time in a quiet neighborhood; the staff team was kind and professional, and we particularly appreciated Amy’s help at the front desk and Ms. Annie’s welcome at breakfast each morning. The homemade desserts and incredible breakfast only added to the experience, and we came away feeling rested and restored. This was our first time having a couples’ getaway in Beaufort, and we look forward to returning!
I would like to apologize to RHI for the lateness of my review. My second visit was in Dec 2018. I returned to the RHI because it felt warm and inviting. I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating, especially Parker. My room was clean and comfortable. Chef Beverly's breakfasts are delicious, especially the blueberry pancakes. The evening deserts were a nice cap to the day. I ate way too much pecan pie. I'm not a big fan, but it was that good. Beaufort is lovely and the RHI is in a good location. I am planning my next visit.
