A tranquil beach holiday waits for you at the InterContinental Pattaya Resort. The resort is nestled amidst lush foliage of a hilly paradise, with buildings peeking over the tops of a tropical canopy, ending with a private beach at the bottom of the resort. The luxurious space offers stunning views of the gulf of Thailand and a host of activities to drive away the strain of a busy city lifestyle.
This five-star paradise has bagged a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence as well as a score of fantastic reviews and it’s easy to see why. Guests are treated to world-class service and a wide array of activities that span from relaxing spa treatments to day trips out to the nearby Coral Island and more. Take a glass-bottom boat for a spin to watch tropical fish dart in and out of coral forests, jump onto the complimentary shuttles to downtown Pattaya for an evening out, or simply soak in the sun at the resort’s private beach.
The resort pays homage to Thailand’s culture, with touches of Asian inspiration giving rooms and the resort’s exterior a breezy look. Manicured gardens, clusters of palm trees and three lagoon-like, jewel-toned swimming pools are scattered within the compound, easily accessed from the rooms.
How to Get There
I wasn't sure where to stay in Pattaya, as I wanted to be able to enjoy the city without being in its craziness. I think I made the right choice for 15 days of relaxation! Everything was so great, from the staff kindness to the room, to the shuttle bringing us to town. The breakfast is splendid, the different restaurants have tasty foods, and the waiters/waitresses are always doing their best to make you feel home. The different pools are ideal to relax are sun bath, and the spa is a real heaven to escape for few hours. It is my second stay at an Intercontinental hotel and I absolutely don't regret it.
Khob khun krab to all the staff :-)
Great hotel and great location. A little out from the busy part of Pattaya. But i liked it like that. No swimming beach, but lots of pools. Great service and recommend the club lounge. The shuttle bus to town was very helpful.
This was not our first stay in an Intercontinental hotel, so we can say that the Intercon Pattaya is on par with other hotels of this brand. Staff is trained in an excellent way. The outstanding club lounge staff is helpful and proactive. The cuisine in the club lounge is remarkably good. We told this to the chef and she prepared a typical thai dish as a surprise for us. The only letdown was the non-existent beach, but we knew this beforehand so we cannot blame the hotel for this circumstance. If we were in this region of Thailand again we would like to return to Intercon Pattaya.
Visited this hotel as a member if IHG's PriorityClub Ambassador programme, and wasn't disappointed by the calibre of the resort or the staff's attention to detail. It really is a well-finished, polished offering. The hotel is built down the hillside overlooking the bay, so there's some great views to be had. And for those not keen on the stairs between the resort's different levels, there's plenty of 'golf-carts' to ferry guests around. .
We have stayed at this resort in the past. It has undergone renovations that have brought it up from a great hotel to truly exceptional.
For this stay we decided to go “whole hog” on a Club Terrace Suite with all the amenities. For breakfast you have your choice of going to the larger, main restaurant or eating in the Club. Eat in the Club! The service and views are spectacular, while the food is cooked to order. Eggs, omelette, fruits - but our favorites were from the Thai offerings. The Khao Pad (a chicken fried rice with an egg or two on top) was cooked fresh, not greasy, and flavorful. Be sure to get the small blown of soy/fish chilie as a condiment. If you request it, you can also get French-Press coffees.
On the second night, the Club Manager told us she had bad news - until we got the good news. Due to a maintenance problem, we would have to change rooms. We went back to our room and packed and were immediately whisked away to the beachfront. For the remaining 3 days we stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath Sala Suite with its own pool right on the beach. 3 nights in heaven.
Don’t get me wrong, the Club Suite was great and well worth the price. This ultimate upgrade, however, will be a lasting memory.
For those who haven’t traveled to Thailand, many Thai’s have nicknames. That is because in their language their names can be quite long - difficult for tourists to pronounce. The Club Manager, “Ice” was anything but cold. She was warm, gracious and very professional. “Win” and “Gam” were also great representatives of the outstanding Club Team.
We hope to come back again next year.
