Next to the Avenue Mall and a block from the beach, the Hotel Baraquda is a contemporary crash pad with a super-central location in Pattaya. The 72 guestrooms are bright and breezy, with a turquoise and sand color scheme, and all come with iPod docks, DVD players and tea- and coffeemaking facilities. Splurge on a Baraquda Suite for a separate living room and a Jacuzzi. There’s an impressive array of facilities given the low room count, including a spacious outdoor pool, a rooftop bar and restaurant, and a serene spa with a modern fitness room. The Sea restaurant is a split-level all-day dining spot overlooking the pool, and the Sunset Lounge serves light bites and cocktails up on the roof.
In the Area
Pattaya’s main attractions include the Nong Nooch Tropical Garden elephant show, the spectacular Tiffany transvestite review and the Floating Market. In nearby Wong Amat don’t miss the massive all-wood Sanctuary of Truth Temple. Beach Road in central Pattaya is lined with bars and bargain markets, while south Pattaya’s Walking Street is a unique and noisy zone of adult go-go bars and eateries.
How to Get There
Wow . What a lovely boutique hotel. Myself and my partner stayed here for 4 nights, the rooms were spotlessly clean and all the staff so hospitable and accommodating to every request and always smiling especially Gigi , Meaw, Mam, Nop, Jack , you were all so hospitable and friendly and you deserve credit , I have stayed at many hotels in Pattaya but the whole experience here is first class . The breakfast was also lovely . We look forward to staying with you again and we would both like to express our thanks for such a memorable stay . I’d 100% recommend this hotel for anyone considering staying in Pattaya. Keep up the good work
This hotel located in a very good location in Pattaya.
Not at the side of the sea but in Pattaya town.
Their rooftop bar can see the sea but not so close and high enough.
Easy to find something to eat and next door is shopping mall.
Hotel is not too new but still not too old.
Clean enough to stay but a bit noisy due to the location is in the town of Pattaya City.
Breakfast is so so, not so variety and the quality of food is so so also.
Compare with their old day with the name Dusit D2 Baraquda, breakfast seems better quality.
Overall is not too bad but not good enough under the brand MGallery by Sofitel.
At best for this hotel if under Accor Group, I feel can position under Mercure Brand not MGallery by Sofitel.
Quite expensive compare with overall facility, decoration, etc.
But what you will get is, good service mind from hotel staff, clean and safe.
We stayed for 4 nights for our wedding anniversary in March and were generaly very happy. If, like us, you want to stay in the heart of Pattaya so you can walk rather taxi/tuk tuk then this really is an excellent choice. You are close to everyhing and yet the hotel is beautifilly quiet...an oasis in the heart of Pattaya. Plenty of shops, restaurants and bars on your doorstep and a 5-10 min walk to the beach (not really a swimming beach but the hotel has a great pool). The whole staff were excellent and the breakfast adequate. The room is comfortable enough but not a great design and a little dated compared to many modern hotels The balcony is small, odd shaped and close to useless. In summary, very happy with our stay but the room, although comfortable, could do with an upgrade.
I was booked to stay at the hotel, booked room only rate, but as platinum normally breakfast included.
I e-mailed twice to the hotel in advance, no response to say if breakfast included.
So once I was in Pattaya and staying first at another hotel I walked in and asked reception staff, the lady said not included but she would double check and ask reservations to mail me back, I then waited again but no mail back. So I have now cancelled my 6 night stay, really as a platinum I would have thought I deserved a response, especially as I took the time to go to the hotel and ask directly.
I think the hotel is pretending to be not only Sofitel but even this kind of advance service not normal for any Accor property, the GM really needs to get a handle on correspondence and the team on the front desk to ensure they deliver what they say.
Great spot to stay, albeit a bit pricey to my mind. Rooms are quirky and fun, light switches are a bit of a challenge!!
Why do hotels of this standard still use single ply toilet paper, that belongs in the 1960’s.
Nice offer of free drinks at the rooftop bar, added to 2 for 1 happy hour means we got 4 cocktails for £7 excellent value,
Rooms spotlessly clean, nice toiletries provided, nice towels, reception staff extremely friendly and helpful, despite the demand for B1000 per day deposit for a minibar with about 5 items in it.
All fairly small complaints, love staying here and excellent location, will definitely be back
