How to Get There
Although the Sheraton is one of the older hotels on the Cotai strip, it still does a good job of 5-star service. Indeed, because it is older than most, it is ideally placed to access all of the other hotels nearby – the Venetian, Parisian & Studio City from the front door; the MGM, Wynn & City of Dreams from the back door – ideal for hotel hopping!
We stayed in a one-bedroom suite, which not only worked out more cost-effective for 4 adults, but also gave us access to the Club Lounge on the 4th Floor.
The room was on a high floor, so it gave us good views of the “Eiffel Tower”, and parts of the strip, next door. It was well appointed, with a guest cloakroom off the living area plus a bedroom with a large, well-appointed, en-suite. Once the sofa bed was packed away then the living room made a sociable space for us all to enjoy.
The Club lounge was very good. Great Asian/European breakfast in the morning and happy hour from 5pm – 8pm, which also provided enough buffet food that you really didn’t need an evening meal afterwards. There is also a small outside area, should you want a smoke. Staff very attentive – name check for Enzo, who looked after us well.
We didn’t get chance to use the pool, but that also looked good.
Free shuttle buses aplenty, so getting to the old town and/or the ports was easy. If you are coming in via the new bridge from Hong Kong then there is a free shuttle bus from the bridge port to the Taipa ferry port, then a Sheraton shuttle bus will take you from there to the hotel door.
I’d be more than happy to stay at the Sheraton again, should I revisit Macau
I was disappointed by this hotel because I checked out at 7:30am. Obviously I left my glasses already and no one from hotel gave me one single call for the whole day. I had my conference in this hotel conference room till 4pm. Within all these 8 hours, no one called me. Not a single call. And if any of their staff had tried to call me, I might not need to go through all these email sending, phone call waiting.
I discovered I left my glasses when I arrived Hong Kong home. My friends will check out tomorrow so I asked them to call the reception to see if they found any glasses. The receptionist replied them immediately saying no lost items was found. So I called the reception myself at 8:30pm, they said they would check for me, and they called back saying they found it. (Then why would the receptionist answering my friend”s call would reply immediately that no lost item was found?) I asked if they can pass the glasses to my friend, and they said I needed to fill in an authorization and they would send the form via my email, which was fine for me. Waited for 2 hours, no emails received. I called the reception again, they said the form would be sent within 24 hours. What....? I told them my friends are checking out tomorrow morning, if the form will be sent within 24 hours, then I did not even need this service. They said they would try to send right away. Waited 30 mins more already 11pm, I called them again, saying I would like to sleep now, and asked them to post my short sighted glasses to me. they said I need to send two forms and my ID copy. Okay, so I sent 2 forms forgetting my ID copy, so I resend my ID copy within 8 mins. They replied they received two forms but no ID copy, I asked them to check again as I sent another email 8 mins after. Then they replied the staff who was dealing with my case finished work already and I had to send the 3 things to their department email so all of them would share my information. I could not understand who would feel comfortable knowing your ID information is shared within whole team. Anyway, I resent and it is already 00:10.
It is not the service I expected from Sheraton, especially they always claim themselves as the biggest Sheraton hotel. Unbelievable. I travel a lot for work and this is honestly the first time I stayed in such an expensive hotel, but receiving almost the lowest standard of service. I did left something in other hotels before (flip flops, charger etc) but they would called me many times immediately to remind me I left something behind.
Very poor service. I did not even mention it charged USD 230 per one night, with a lot of bugs on the conference room floor, which all participants kept scratching throughout the whole conference.
Do not stay here.
