How to Get There
Within minutes of arriving in the hotel, the front desk manager made us feel incredibly welcome.
The entrance and lobby are incredible, and the rooms are very well designed.
The amenities in the room were very good - possibly the best coffee I've ever had in a hotel room anywhere.
I think the hotel may have benefited from some sort of breakfast provision, but I appreciate that this is a boutique hotel.
The hotel is actually in the Tin Hau area, one MTR station away from Causeway Bay. If you're coming from HKIA, take the Airport Express to Hong Kong Station and from there board the H3 complimentary shuttle bus service. Get off at the first stop, which is Empire Hotel Causeway Bay and Tuve is just a block away - about a 2-minute walk. Please note that you will not see TUVE in big bold letters at the front of the hotel. Good thing is that we recognized the facade from the pictures we saw prior to our trip. The huge metal and glass door would be on your left and once you step inside you will find 2 elevators. It was a bit confusing at first because there was no signage, and no indication of which floor the hotel's reception lobby is on. There were some other guests on the elevator with us who shared that the lobby is on floor 1.
Checking in was a breeze and I would say that the front office staff were okay, not too cheerful but rather reserved which is fine by me because I am usually not in the mood to be chit-chatty coming from a flight. We were given our keys and proceeded to the room. We reserved a Deluxe room and as expected in Hong Kong, the room is on the smallish side.
Now the room. One word - bare. I understand the minimalist concept but I felt that they went a bit overboard on this project. The bed is huge, and firm which I liked. The room itself is interesting at first but after a night you will wonder about what the designer was thinking when they came up with the design. There are no storage spaces to keep your stuff after a day of shopping. Our luggages were on the floor and all we had was a tiny closet. Tired feet? No couch. What you will have is a bar stool and a desk chair.
Location is good and is quiet at night. The hotel is about a 5-minute walk to the Tin Hau MTR station so going around is easy. I liked the fact that downstairs we found lots of budget friendly restaurants that were open until wee hours of the morning. There's a dimsum place nearby which I loved and they are open from 10am until 6am the following day.
I’ve stayed a Tuve a number of times. It is a very cool space, beds are super comfortable and local area is great to explore. Easy access to trains and short Uber ride to business district, bars and many other attractions. My go to place when staying in HK now.
It wasn't so hard to find the hotel. We notice it right away because of the aesthetics.cool and chic. The hotel is very nice and the room size is okay. We loved the mini bar choices. A great quite place to stay. We will definitely come back for out next visit!
We booked premier room on 32nd floor, large king bed and enormous shower. Loved this hotel for its very modern and clean simple decor. Some views towards Kowloon and a peek at the harbour. Very friendly staff who were able to answer all our questions e.g. bus or transit to obscure places! The location was the best - lots of budget friendly cafes and take out places, close to the MTR (Tin Hau), Victoria Park and Causeway Bay. One tram ride away from Happy Valley Racecourse (for Wednesday night races). Would definitely stay here again.
