How to Get There
We were staying a week in Hong Kong and needed a fairly central location. Lanson Place Hotel was perfect for us, as it was less than 10 mins walk to Time Square (where my husband needed to work during the week) and the MTR was even closer! It's situated at a corner where it was easy to get taxis and there are loads of eateries around the block (including a classic HK-style cafe " 茶餐廳" right next door)
We had one of the deluxe rooms, it had a separare small sitting area. Since we were staying a week, we didn't want to be sitting on top of each other the entire week...so made sure we had a bit of space. Like most HK hotels, it's a small room but very functional and smartly designed to maximize use of space. It had a kitchenette which had a stove top (we didn't use, since we are out every night) and a fridge.
The best thing about this hotel was the free mobile wi-fi they provided. It was basically a mobile phone that guests could take out with them throughout the day and it had free international calls. I used it as a mobile hotspot, my husband and I were able to tether our phones to it and we were able to use our own phones as per norm. It was very useful, since we didn't really know our way around HK very well and we didn't have to get a SIM card or worry about going over our data plans.
Since I was in HK eating my way through the town all week, I also used the gym to try and stay relatively fit...it was a great little gym and was perfect for when I had to wait for my laundry to finish...Yes! There's even a laundromat! We were there for a week so it was nice to be able to wash some of our stuff... especially since we had sweat through a lot of it in the HK summer humidity!
I would definitely recommend this place and would stay again!
Stayed for 4 days, the rooms were modern, clean and amenities were good. The hotel is in the very busy Causeway Bay Area, so be prepared for the busy streets around. Best way to get in and out of area was the MTR trains. I would recommend for holiday and business stays.
We stayed at Lanson Place 15 days in June, 2018. The hotel location is excellent, about 10 minutes walk from the Causeway Bay MTR station. Via MTR you can get to anywhere in Hong Kong. (We suggest getting an Octopus fare card if staying more than one or two days in Hong Kong).
Hotel service was perfect, both in the room and the concierge in making reservations for restaurants, etc. We had a "grand luxe" room. It was only medium sized but well laid out. There's a good coffee maker, fridge, microwave and stovetop. We generally had breakfast and one light meal in the room leaving one meal to a restaurant.
For supplies we recommend the Welcome supermarket in Great George St. about 10 minutes away, near the E entrance of the Causeway Bay MTR. The nearby Sogo department store also has a fancier food market in the basement where you can get food to take back to the hotel.
A good restaurant 5 minutes away is Din Tai Fung, on Yee Wo Street at the corner of Pennington. It fills up quickly so we went at the 11:30 opening to avoid a line.
All in all an excellent stay. We will certainly come back if we can again visit Hong Kong.
Hotel is located in a convenient location in Causeway bay, quick 10min walk away from Sogo and main shopping area. Rooms are spacious and well equipped, really comfortable and highly recommended if you are staying for a few days and need more room. Staff are nice and they allowed us to check in early as our plane arrived at 5am in the morning.
Here for 16-20 June with friend, doorman’s very helpful, staffs are excellent service, having problem with cooking stove but they are handled it very good,
Absolutely we will back again.
This hotel very highly recommended.
