How to Get There
Check-in/out impeccable. Rooms large and well furnished. Very good lift service. In many respects a good hotel for virtually any type of travel.
Breakfast can be a bit hectic, but plenty of food stations. Recommend side view of harbour - a little less expensive but a good compromise.
It is simply an amazing hotel, in an excellent location. Beautifully presented it is still very welcoming. Every time we walked in the door it felt like coming home.
We were lucky enough to be there for Christmas dinner and the buffet was outstanding- foods from all over the world. The standard was extremely high and it was fun to have a photo with Santa. [This site won't allow selecting Dec '17]
This was our first trip to Hong Kong and the Shangri-La made us want to revisit, which we are doing this week!!
I can't wait.
This was a repeat visit after a wonderful first visit, so our expectations were high. The room was still great. The location is still very convenient. The food is still great. What changed was the reception staff.
Maybe it was a language barrier. Maybe the front desk person was new. I don't know. The check-in process took longer than it (what I remember) normally does. The lady kept asking for this card and that paper. Whatever. The last time, all I gave was my name and my passport and everything was done within 2 minutes. This time, a line built up behind me. Fortunately, the check out was much better...all of a minute and a half.
Room for improvement, I guess.
The rooms are great, the location is unbeatable, and the breakfast buffet is out of this world! We were staying in Hong Kong on a layover to Shenzhen, and we were really glad we did. The hotel is beautiful and the service is impeccable.
We stayed in a deluxe harbour view room which had spectacular views by day and night. The service at the hotel was excellent, both staff and in the restaurant. The hotel location is perfect for getting around the city, close to an MRT station and for using the Star Ferry to Hong Kong Island. Thoroughly recommended.
