Non existent customer service
Reviewed 10 hours ago

Currently staying here for 3 nights. Hotel is not cheap but have had a good experience last year. The hotel manager we knew no longer works here and it seems that customer service left with him.

First day, we arrived at 6am with 2 young children and were told we had to wait till 3pm check-in. They didn’t bother looking at available rooms or offering us other options. Other hotels would have had more empathy and better customer service. I suggested whether we could get a room if we paid and magically we were offered a suite upgrade for additional $. I’m happy to pay, this could have been offered as part of hotel service instead of waiting for the customer to suggest it.

2nd night, we had to change rooms back to the original room we booked. At 3:50AM, while my family (with 2 young children), were in deep sleep, someone came into our room. It was a couple who just checked in and front desk gave them our room. Not only did our family get woken up at an unreasonable hour, it was a complete breach of security and trust. I called front desk and the night shift manager said it was a mistake and that was it - no proper apology or any offer to make it up to us.

This has been an extremely disappointing experience, I have never experienced such poor hotel service that I had to write a TripAdvisor review. Needless to say, we will not be returning.

Great hotel in Hong Kong!

Pluses:
- awesome location! 2 mins walk to Tsim Sha Tsui station, 5 mins to Nathan road, 10 mins walk to harbor/star avenue;
- Good service (excepting nobody smile ever in this hotel... hehe) or chit chat...;
- Big spacious rooms - many facing harbor with amazing view!
- Executive rooms have access to executive lounge - nice place to chill, work, have a coffee;
- Ava restaurant for breakfast has amazing view!
- Small ok gym on ground floor;
- Amazing space on 40th floor to watch HK day and night. Can see Symphony of lights every day at 8 pm;
- Good price/quality ratio.

Minuses:
- often had to go to reception to make cards work...
- breakfast selection to be honest is so-so in Ava restaurant... no eggs station.. not much to choose... no local specialties. Very basic;
-

In general - recommend! For solo, family, tourist or business traveling. Great'

Great location but needs an update
Reviewed 4 days ago

We stayed here for 4 nights and was aware from the reviews read before booking that the hotel needed a bit of an update. Our experience would match most other reviews here. Great location and at check in they seemed to have no customer service including no explanation given of executive lounge privileges. The Room was nice with an excellent view but dated and we were not sure if was cleaned or not due to the build up grime and stains etc. The room itself is well sized and bed is comfortable but there is a lot of inter room noise. Executive lounge was the same every night - needs to be mixed up some more, and the food was bland and boring. A lack of service was also noted during the so called happy hour. Overall we wouldn’t stay again.

Fabulous location

Stayed two nights here and enjoyed the hotel, the room was a decent size, the bathroom nice and the view: wow spectacular (we were on the 31st floor). The location of this hotel was brilliant for exploring the area, everything is super close and a very funky neighbourhood. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Great base for sightseeing

Excellent location for the Metro which is just round the corner & a pleasant stroll to the Star Ferry terminal & the waterfront. When we checked in we were offered a well priced upgrade to a room on the 31st floor - WOW! Well worth it for the view alone, night or day it was fabulous. The room itself was lovely, very well appointed & well looked after, we had everything we needed. The bullet lift was a bonus. Breakfast was in AVA on the 38th floor & the staff were incredibly attentive & helpful, trying their very best to ensure everyone was at a window table to enjoy the incredible view. There are plenty of bars & restaurants nearby & of course Nathan Road shops. Our first impression wasn't great as there is no hotel frontage as such just a doorway to a small lobby where the concierge is situated. It was full of guests milling around & there seemed to be a hundred suitcases chained together! Reception is one floor up & is a bit cold & clinical but don't let that put you off. We really enjoyed staying here & will definitely do so again when we next visit Hong Kong.
