How to Get There
I have been staying at the Icon for the past 5 years, so to learn that a large number of managers have just resigned en masse - people that I had come to respect and who MADE the Icon different than its competitors - is shocking and foreboding (to me).
If you knew the Above and Beyond team well, you’ll know what I mean. Just know that many of those great people are gone.
We stayed at Hotel Icon during our babymoon to Hong Kong. When check in staff found out we were celebrating special, they upgraded our room to harbour view. The room was spacious and clean. They had complimentary phone with 4G network which was a big plus since we didn't have to rent separate wifi. All staff were very professional yet friendly. Location is not bad especially with their free shuttle service. Overall, I recommend this hotel if you are looking for reasonable priced hotel with good quality.
I have been celebrating my husband birthday in the stay as my wonderful experience with the Market and Above and Beyond in the past.
The stay is wonderful the staff are caring and they even prepare the birthday ballons and cake for us.
The experience with club access is out of expectation you can enjoy afternoon tea and a wide selection of drinks before dinner time.
I need to especially thanks Guest relations Cherry Au for the arrangement - and Jeffery in customer service team.
I booked Hotel Icon to treat my sister to a relaxing first night of a week long holiday in Hong Kong. The view from the room was lovely, food delicious, gym and pool had a great view and drinks at Above and Beyond were a brilliant way to spend the evening.
We had issues with our flight being delayed but Jerry and Lydia were flexible which made us more able to relax and deal with reorganising the flight without worrying about missing our stay. The Tesla transfer and check in made the last leg of our 30 hour journey so much easier!
There were a couple of things to improve upon though: I struggled to sleep as I could hear staff talking in the small corridor by the service lifts behind our room between 1:30-3:00am but was able to get back to sleep after this. We also let many people know about my sister’s fish allergy but she was still served caviar (fish egg) on the afternoon tea. She recognised it so didn’t eat it, but it could have been very serious. It also meant she lost confidence and was nervous to eat other food both at the restaurant and subsequently around Hong Kong in different restaurants because ‘even the Hotel’ wasn’t careful about allergies.
Overall, it was a great stay and we will both recommend Hotel Icon to friends and colleagues visiting Hong Kong in the future. However there are a couple of important details to improve.
We just returned from a three week long Asian adventure. Our last stop was at Hotel Icon in Hong Kong. We could not of picked a better hotel to end our trip.
The location was beyond ideal. We walked almost everywhere! Our first night there we walked only 5 mins to the river to watch the Symphony of Lights. Spectacular!! The free hotel shuttle was also a serious perk!
From the moment we got to the hotel and was directed to the 26 floor special club room reception, we knew we had made a good choice.
From there, We met Jessica, Cherry and Bonnie who helped us plan our 3 day stay in Hong Kong. We mentioned we wanted a unique Dim Sum restaurant and they gave us about 5 different options. The one we picked, Yum Cha, ended up being one of our all time favorite restaurants! It was fun, cute, and most importantly, delicious!
We are so absolutely loved having access to the club lounge. After exploring each day we loved heading back to the hotel for happy hour from 6-8pm. The views, the food, the drinks, but most importantly the staff made our night, each and every night!
We also expressed that we wanted to have a good Peking duck dinner, and Jessica pointed out that we should try the Peking Duck at the Above and Beyond restaurant in the hotel. We tried it that night and where blown away with the food and the ambience.
We cannot thank everyone at Hotel Icon enough. And we cannot wait to return our next trip!
