How to Get There
I visited the Harbour Grand Hong Kong three weeks ago for a night on my way through from mainland China back home to Melbourne. The service from the moment I stepped out of the taxi was impeccable, all of the staff were welcoming and extremely helpful and friendly. After I requested a late check-out the next day (as my flight was leaving in the evening), it was arranged easily with no fuss. I was also given an extremely generous room upgrade to the Premier Harbour View Suite.
The room was incredible, all the amenities, a huge bed with comfortable pillows, massive bathroom with double shower and bath, as well as the large lounge. Not to mention the stunning view overlooking the harbour! The breakfast service the next morning at the cafe was also fantastic, with a wide range of options and cuisines. The only thing more I would possibly ask here for would be a barista made coffee, opposed to filter coffee - but that's just me being pedantic! The pool was quite decent and relaxing to spend the afternoon beside, there are not too many lounges and seats during busy periods though so make sure to get down early.
Overall, a fantastic experience - I will be back next time I pass by Hong Kong!
Staff friendly and helpful, we thought we could have interconnected rooms for 5 of us (trailfinders confirmed) but inter connected rooms not big enough for a rollaway bed. They upgraded us to bigger rooms next to each other still with great harbour views. Be aware that the free airport shuttle bus does not pick up from the airport but from the Hong Kong airport express station on the Island. It costs around $160HK each for a bus transfer from the airport to the hotel. My advice; use the airport express MTR, cheaper and quicker. Nice loung bar but expensive breakfast. Pret is just up the road 5 mins for decent coffee and pastry for much less.
We were a family party of 12 - made up of elderly, adults and young teens, some with limited mobility.
A wonderful break in Hong Kong and we were very pleased with our choice of hotel.
The Harbour Grand Hong Kong is a large hotel overlooking the bay and reasonably close to most amenities – the MTR being very nearby. They also have a complimentary regular hotel shuttle bus which is also complemented by a free airport bus too that takes you to the central station.
We were given a very warm welcome on arrival by Gary Chong, Guest Services Manager, and all the team. Our rooms were ready on arrival which was such a boon especially after a very long flight. They had also heeded our request for rooms with accessible bathroom facilities and near the lift etc.
The standard rooms are a little small and décor a little dated which could benefit from a facelift to make them more inviting and modern. Beds were very comfortable with comfortable large soft pillows. These made for a welcome and restful sleep.
Bathroom facilities and toiletries were great – lovely hot showers – perfect after a full day’s sightseeing.
We were on a bed and breakfast option. Breakfast is a buffet style offering of eastern and western fare and good choice and the room itself is large, airy, overlooks the water and makes for a comfortable and pleasurable dining experience.
There is a medium sized pool which is easily accessible and gently graded – no deep end as such, and a smaller kiddies pool adjacent to it. This makes it a very family friendly pool and pool attendant/lifeguard always seem to be in attendance which is reassuring. The bed style sun loungers aren’t very plentiful but along with other loungers and seats seemed adequate for the number of people using the pool.
Regrettably I didn’t get to visit the top floor lounge – however the rest of the family did go to this upper deck to see that evening light show which they found enjoyable.
Being a large party, we arranged return airport coach transfers organised by the hotel and found this to be of good value as well as giving us a nice overview of Hong Kong from the airport to the hotel. The hotel has airport staff who met us on arrival and departure and who were very efficient. They ensured that everything worked seamlessly including the special assistance by way of wheelchairs that was required.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel as it is good value for money coupled with great courteous, efficient service by most of the team members.
Our sincere thanks to everyone who made our stay so pleasurable and memorable.
we stayed here 2 weeks ago on an Emirates holiday, a two part holiday ( second part was Dubia) the hotel is nice, the room was clean and bath towels soft and fluffy! the shower is to die for! we stayed on BB plan and the buffet breakfast was amazing, the evening meals were expensive and so was the lounge bar, the room had a 3rd bed for our son but at 6ft 2 was was to long for the bed! we asked for a room change but this was way to expensive. we have since found out these beds are advertised as a third bed free kids bed so we are not happy as we paid full adult price. in all the hotel in a good location, the rooms were clean but small, - close to Fortress hilll sation to get around, there is building work outside with lorries turning and parking. but yes i would say its a nice place to stay
Perfect set up for our 4 day stay in July 27 to 2 Aug 2018. Staff and facilities were excellent, service very efficient and breakfast was good too. Lovely pool to relax in after hectic tours of Hong Kong
