How to Get There
Easy walk to the Fortress hill transit station, great views of the harbour, rooftop restaurant and observation deck. Away from the tourist hordes, but easy to get around anywhere using metro rail MTR system. Luxurious rooms. Impressive lobby. Note the chandelier.
Stayed here on my first visit to Hong Kong with my husband. Whilst not right in the middle of the city- it’s only a short walk to the MTR which will get you where you need to go easily and efficiently. (Get an octopus card- easiest way to get around and you can even use it at 7/11s and what not). We had the harbour club upgrade which meant we could use the lounge on the 41st floor- views were amazing! Only issue was it was often hard to get a seat by the window but oh well. Lots of inclusions such as afternoon tea and evening snacks (hot and cold) as well as drinks between I think 6 and 8:30? This wasn’t just wine/beer/champagne but also cocktails! Best cosmopolitans I’ve ever had! Cosmo + a view of the nightly light shows? Safe to say I was one happy girl!
A few more things: room was great, brekky was great (top floor again so morning view amazing), staff were great. A special thanks to Grace Wu- always remembered our names which made us feel very special! And was always very helpful if we had any questions about sightseeing or transport options.
Lovely 2 night stay in the Grand Hotel. Friendly helpful staff good value breakfast. Delightful rooftop lounge with great views over the city at night. Facilitated us with wash and changing facilities on our afternoon departure. Overall highly recommend. Ann and William C
Stayed with my husband and 2 sons, we got a good deal via a travel website which made it good value. rooms are large by Hong-Kong standards, good location close to Fortress Hill MTR station, so easy to get around using the Octopus card. Staff were very helpful. They open the roof terrace at sunset which has an amazing all round view at sunset and for the light show.
Entrance foyer gives the impression of a good hotel unfortunately our room and the service did not match this. We had a harbour view club room which had nit been cleaned properly. Mugs had rings on inside, large hair ball in shower which did not drain and flooded rest of bathroom. Carpet had bit all over it, tiles outside of bathroom cracked with sharp edges. Asked for milk for tea as non left in room but non arrived. Room was dark and dingy with marks everywhere in desperate need of refurb. The harbour room view had a stocked on it saying curtain had to be drawn to maintain privacy, thus spoil in view we paid for.
Reception asked if I enjoyed stay, I told them no and they just responded by saying they hoped to see me again soon so no interest at all
