How to Get There
Perfect for people travelling for Business on this side of the island because it's very accessible via the MTR (local railway), and it's very close to many restaurants, cafes, and stores. Rooms are very well-maintained, and are quiet, so you'll be sure to have a good night's sleep or won't be disturbed if you have to work a bit more at night. Amazing roof top bar with a nice view of the city. Their staff are very courteous and attentive to your needs. My only complaint is that the buffet selection could be improved, so I would recommend trying the other restaurants nearby instead.
The hotel is situated in East Hong Kong Island which makes it cheaper than central or Kowloon hotels. The MTR (Tai Koo station) could only be closer if it was in the hotel. Staff super friendly and the rooms very clean and very comfortable. Even the mini bar prices aren’t too outrageous. The rooftop bar is comfy, lively and with fantastic views across the harbour. Would highly recommend the hotel!!
I stayed for 3 nights during a business trip and found the East HK to be a good base for anyone working in CityPlaza.
It’s located right next the the MTR station and has a handy bridge on the 1st floor that allows you to walk through to the mall and on to the office towers.
The room was ok, but as with many hotels in HK you need to stay above the 25th floor to avoid looking out into the neighbouring apartments.
Lovely hotel with very spacious public areas. So convenient to MTR which is just next to the hotel. There is always someone to open the door for you when you come into the side of the hotel which does not have an automatic door. Always a lovely and courteous smile from all service staff. Room is beautifully presented. Love it there
This review is actually for my stay at East HK in June 2017 — TripAdvisor only lets you choose a date within a year.
I planned a quick weekend getaway to HK with my parents, with me flying in from Beijing and my parents from Tokyo. I’d booked our flights so that I would arrive about 40 mins after theirs, but I received notice about 6hrs before departure that due to have heavy rains, my flight was delayed. My parents are in their seventies and don’t speak Cantonese (or mandarin), I was a little worried about how they’d get to the hotel. So I called the hotel and arranged last minute airport pick up for them, not knowing that their flight would also be delayed out of Tokyo, for the same reason. I received a call from the hotel close to midnight, to assure me that the flight was delayed but they’d arrived at the airport and were looking for my parents. I ended up arriving at about 6am, and as soon as I checked in, the staff updated me on my parents’ situation and let me know they’d rested in their room and were having bfast already. What a great relief to know that they were “on top of everything!”
I was upgraded to a corner room with a great view of the rainy city. Rooms were equipped with Handy phones which were very convenient to carry around the city.
The hotel’s location was very convenient, as it is connected to an MTR station, and a quick walk through to the other side of the station were many shops (including a Japanese dept store with a nice supermarket and food court) and restaurants close by.
I would definitely recommend East Hong Kong to travelers looking for great staff and service, at a friendly and hip (but not hipster) place to stay.
