How to Get There
I've stayed here a few times over the last several years and get the sense that management is diminishing the boutique appeal of the hotel with small cost cutting efforts. Over the last year, EAST has replaced the individual soap and shampoo containers with dispensers. Not a big deal unless you like bar soap to wash. On this latest visit I discovered that they no longer provide a pen at the bedside. It's now a pencil. Again a little thing, but I prefer a pen to take notes and to take as a backup to the ones I lose on the road. Not too much to ask.
It's a very nice property, the staff is great and the bed is comfortable. It still costs a lot to stay there and the place still has a boutique feel. I hope the cost cutting ends with the minor items listed above.
It is my first time travel to Hong Kong with my family and very unfortunate to be here with the big protest everywhere. Many shops are closed as we want to go shopping in Nathan Road and Causeway. Hotel itself is very good and all the staff there are very professional and tell us where we should go and where we shouldn't. We are so lucky to have front desk manager Gary to upgrade our room to the corner one, he said the hotel is not very busy and they want to make the customers happy and return next time. When we have many choices to choose a hotel, they are doing the right things to keep the customers and we will return again when all the shops are being opened as normal.
I travel to Hong Kong for business very often and my colleagues recommended this hotel. I decided to stay EAST HK with great expectation. Arrival experience was pleasant and room was very nice with a view. However, I had an incident with iron in the room and the responses I received were very disappointing. Customer experience team did not have competence to make better experience for the guests when incident happens. Only person who followed up and provide update was customer experience manager. If everything goes well during the stay this is a nice hotel to stay but if any incident happens do not expect to leave with good experience.
