How to Get There
Was in HK for 3 weeks business trip, the hotel breakfast is good and we received complimentary fruits/ wine for the long stay. Modern style room and bright. Interlinked with a mall and subway which makes the stay even more convenient. Overall satisfy and had a comfortable stay.
Hotel room is big and cozy. The bed is huge. Overall, it’s clean and environmental friendly. They provide a filtered water system in room, so you don’t have to waste any plastic bottle. The view is nice. You can see the habour.
Unfortunately, after my dinner, there was a tear gas canister shot right in front of the hotel door. You could literally see and smell the gas if you’re going back to the hotel. I don’t see why the cops have to use such chemical weapon that would hurt indiscriminately. That’s overkill and not riot control. And the explosion of the canister was huge, I swear to god it could’ve easily hit me. I was worried about stampede and the chemical.
I know it’s not the fault of the hotel, but definitely need to mention it so other family should be aware of the situation. Also, the snacks are not cheap given that going out again isn’t an option for us.
I booked this hotel and paid for a premium (similar hotels in HK island with Victoria habour view were cheaper) so that I could stay away and have a peace of mind. I thought this location would be the least affected. It seems there isn’t any safe and decent hotel in HK island anymore.
But I have to reiterate the hotel is great, I would still recommend it and I have been here for a few times. It’s just that I have to be honest about the experience.
After opening for almost 10 years, I finally got a chance to come for stay-cation at EAST.
Conveniently located with direct access to City plaza mall where you found many shops and activities for kids, it was a great choice for family with kid like us.
Our family was welcomed upon arrival by friendly Guest Experience Ben and Leo.
We were very lucky to stay in one of the harbor view suites on high floor this time.
Once you opened the room door, the first impression was the amazing harbor view overlooking Kowloon East.
Room was very spacious with sofa, bed, even shower and bathtub facing directly the harbor which made you feel so relaxed with the sunlight coming in.
The hanging chair was a signature of EAST. When you sit there and look out, you felt truly sensational and forgot you were actually in Hong Kong.
Mini bar was well stocked with various snacks and drinks which were rare in other business hotels.
Rain shower and double basin were indeed bonus, which might not be available in some hotels which definitely something we would appreciate.
I particular liked the i-Home device by the bedside table which was a combination of alarm, Bluetooth speaker and wireless charger. How smart was that!
We had dinner at Feast which offered semi buffet.
We preferred this to full buffet because here served exactly what we wanted: sushi, oysters, salad, desserts plus your own selected main course from the menu.
We dived to the pool after lovely breakfast at FEAST to end our stay-cation.
Overall, the hotel was well maintained and great value of money in city center.
We should have come a lot earlier to experience the wonderful hospitality here!
We wish to come back in the future again and will definitely recommend to our friends.
