They are numerous interesting services offered in Shangri-La Hotel. Despite the staying in the hotel was short but we enjoyed every single of the facility within . The free WiFi and the lighting system of the place was perfect.

Not same like some years ago!

No one was speaking proper English upon arrival!
Because queue was long at reception I showed my golden circle diamond card and asked for going to horizon club lounge for check-in, which is common practice. Apparently not understanding completely, the lady refused, and repeatedly argued, not knowing in which wing we are staying!!!
Finally after 15-20 minutes waiting (some Chinese pushed in in front of us waiting), we checked in at lobby.
Next day, because of heading to Great Wall with Rally Participants (Peking to Paris) it was almost impossible to get coffee in the extra early opening restaurant at ground floor, most of the coffee machines were just broken.
Similarly to day before in the Japanese Restaurant staff didn’t speak English, and even didn’t provide the Sunday Brunch/Lunch Menu to us, only after my wife (She is Chinese) asked twice back, they handed this menu to us.
Finally, at Horizon Club Lounge later things got better: here staff was friendly, helpful, and was able to speak (a bit) English enough.
But serving a coffee from wrong side, so I must put it to other side of my plate, etc. still happened, as some service ladies taking selfies, when guest were waiting...
Service in this hotel isn’t as well as many years ago.

I stayed in shangrila hotel beijing this time with my friend. And I find it so much comfortable here. The hotel is so beautiful and fancy. And the staffs are all kind and friendly. Especially the gentleman Lyle Li,he helped us many ways during the whole stay. I will come back here and bring more friends.

Location but that’s about it.

It’s huge and the centre piece of China World. But the rooms are dated, hundreds of light switches and old beds. However my corporate rate was very reasonable so it did the job. Breakfast was average buffet and bars restaurants were also nothing to write home about. Might try something different next time.
