How to Get There
Stayed here for a couple of nights whilst touring across Mexico.
Our room was quite spacious and comfortable and noticed there was a stove in the room that could be lit if you found the room cold. Compared to all other places we visited in Mexico this was the only place where a jumper and coat were needed if venturing out for dinner.
We found many very good restaurants all within a very short walk as well as the market, shops and main square.
The breakfast range was fine and included an ‘egg station’ set in a room overlooking a fine inner courtyard.
We stayed in the hotel for two nights in a row, everything was going well until we had a member of our group falling ill suddenly, we asked the hotel for an extra night and they started causing trouble, they tried to charge breakfast, that was included, tried to give us an inferior quality room charging the price for the superior and told us they couldnt keep our luggage for a couple of hours when the day before it wasnt a problem. It is a lovely place, it is a pitty that they only care about the money
Impressive old building, nice decorations, clean lovely room and bathroom, comfortable beds.
Tasty breakfast made from local produces.
Very good service.
Great base for exploring the city and the surroundings.
As you enter the hotel through the arch there is a sign saying 4 star. Well it clearly isn’t. Our room was ok although it could have done with some heating as it was very cold on a morning. The bed was rock hard, my wife checked there was a mattress and we weren’t sleeping on concrete. The toilet wouldn’t flush properly and despite reporting it nothing was done. Our towels were thread bear fraying at the edges. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Finally the last day I ate breakfast off the buffet and had an upset stomach all day. Great location but needs some strong management.
My husband, my two girls and me stayed for a couple of days in this hotel. While it was ok for sleeping only -we had some tours booked so we had to get up early and then came back in the evening-, I think it has some room for improvement. It appears as a boutique hotel but I don't think it is. The room was just enough for us four, although beds were relatively comfortable, but not boutique hotel quality. Water in the shower was never warm enough and would use some pressure. Breakfast was buffet but food lacked enough quality. Something that I surprised me is that I thought that noise from other rooms were going to be an issue but there was no sound at all, even though I know we had neighbors
