Great Location
Reviewed 1 month ago

My husband, my two girls and me stayed for a couple of days in this hotel. While it was ok for sleeping only -we had some tours booked so we had to get up early and then came back in the evening-, I think it has some room for improvement. It appears as a boutique hotel but I don't think it is. The room was just enough for us four, although beds were relatively comfortable, but not boutique hotel quality. Water in the shower was never warm enough and would use some pressure. Breakfast was buffet but food lacked enough quality. Something that I surprised me is that I thought that noise from other rooms were going to be an issue but there was no sound at all, even though I know we had neighbors

Transitional hotel
Reviewed 2 months ago

From the time you enter in this hotel you get the feeling of a transitional hotel in Mexico. We stayed for two days as part of our tour of Mexico and we really enjoyed. Nice rooms with a fireplace, breakfast and new year's eve dinner acceptable, and stuff trying to do their best in a slow Mexican way. Overall a nice experience.

Charming Hotel, Great Location

We spent five days in San Cristobal de Las Casas. The Deigo de Mazariegos Hotel was lovely. It is an old colonial house that is well located -- easy to walk to restaurants and shopping. The rooms were spacious. The food was fine. Go out on the rooftop at sunset for a magnificent view. The negative was very low water pressure and mostly luke-warm water in the showers.

The service was great -- they helped me find a guide who spoke English. We toured the city, went to Palenque, visited the indigenous villages of Chamula and Zinacantan.

Large hotel

Stayed here with family, was expecting a quaint boutique vibe but was disappointed to see its run as a large generic hotel. The rooms along the courtyard are beautiful and spacious. Was a bit turned off by the poor customer service. Anytime we had a question the hotel staff looked extremely annoyed at having to help us. The pro is that it’s clean, affordable, and extremely close to town. San cristobal is a beautiful town filled with many cute boutique hotels, would probably stay at another place next time.

Well-located hotel but bed not so comfortable
Reviewed 3 months ago

Stayed here 2 nights. The hotel is an old house with wooden beams. It is centrally located, 5 minutes from the Zocalo.

The bedrooms are spacious but the bed was not especially comfortable with lumpy pillows. There is no in-room safe provided.

There is no air conditioning but at 2000 meters altitude it was not needed. There are wood-burning fireplaces in the bedrooms, lit on request and for a small charge after the first fire.

Breakfast was adequate and cooked to order.

The WiFi is good throughout
