How to Get There
We spent just two nights, but wanted to enjoy much more. Beautiful design, incredible pool, great view, delicious food and the customer service is awsome.
As their name said, it’s in the River side, so the views are beautiful. Every tiny detail in the room has been designed to make more comfortable your stay.
My girlfriends and I did a lot of research and read about Ratilanna and decided to book the deluxe suite for the three of us. We called the hotel and arranged for someone to pick us up from the airport (wasn't expensive). Our wonderful driver was waiting for us at the airport and took us straight to the hotel in an air-conditioned car!
Upon arriving at our hotel, which is about five minutes by car, to Old City, the receptionist greeted us with smiles and a cup of tea. Our room was already prepped and done for us, as they knew we were on our way to the hotel. Our receptionist walked us to our room and showed us how everything worked.
We were just in awe of how beautiful the room was. It was clean, smelled amazing, and just an amazing view of the river and hotel pool.
We made our way to the hotel pool, which was massive and so clean! They have a swim up bar and the bartenders and servers were great!
The restaurant at the hotel was delicious as well serving authentic Thai food in both an indoor and outdoor setting! They also have an big variety for their buffet breakfast.
They have an on-site spa and fitness center that is just as impressive. There was a little mix-up with our booking, but they were so pro-active and were able to sort everything out without us having to deal with anything.
In general I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone for groups. The people, staff, and grounds are just amazing!
Stayed only one night at the end of our Chiang Mai holiday with husband in February. Upon arrival were upgraded from deluxe room to a deluxe suite, due to Chinese New Year holiday makers apparently. The rooms were lovely, although dimly lit. Huge king bed was comfortable and the large bathroom was clean. The waterfall feature wall behind the bath is a nice touch ( you can turn it off if the sound of running water bothers you). Amenities good. There is a day bed on the patio and we were on the third floor overlooking the pool. The pool is refreshing, with a swim up bar, but service a bit slow here. We ate in the restaurant for dinner, with two main meals and two desserts declared delicious. The purchase of alcohol makes dining in expensive; the meals themselves were reasonably priced for a hotel. This was my second visit to RatiLanna Resort and Spa and if I could get a suite for the price of a room I would return, but it is a bit dated and dim and I think better deals are available elsewhere. If you want to be out of town and are happy to take tuk tuks, or taxis, or just stay at the resort, it is very nice .
This elegant modern hotel with contemporary Thai decor is located away from the city center on the bank of the Mae Ping river. Our deluxe room was very well-appointed and comfortable with an interesting waterfall feature in the spacious bath giving the room a spa-like feel. The room had a large balcony with a cabana. The pool and grounds are attractive and immaculate facing out on the river giving it a tranquil ambiance. The hotel offers a shuttle to (but not back from) the night and weekend markets in the city but its just as easy to take a Tuk Tuk for the short (but not walkable) distance. Apparently they can drop off but not wait at the hotel but they are standing out of sight just off the property to the left hand side. The staff was superb and my wife says the Thai massages in the Spa are heavenly. The breakfast buffet was just average and not quite up to the high standard of the rest of the property.
Nestled in a corner of the city, the hotel is set in traditional architecture with cosy ambience. Room was big and offers good view of the pool and river. Service staff in restaurant was polite and the place offers good variety for breakfast. Room rate was a bit steep though.
