How to Get There
Due to a plethora of outside influences we were unable to travel for a weekend break in the sun for my wife's birthday so we thought we'd have a night out near home...
I booked bed, breakfast and evening meal but to be honest we wish we had stayed at home!
The staff were all extremely nice but there simply weren't anywhere near enough of them.
• We were seated for dinner 25 mins before we were asked for a drinks order.
• The food was average at best.
• There was no coffee at breakfast for twenty minutes.
• The hot food buffet consisted of some baked beans and a few mushrooms.
• The dirty tables weren’t being cleared despite a mile long queue to be seated.
In summary I wouldn't stay here again.
Always one of our favourite venues over the years and didn’t disappoint on our visit yesterday. We prefer the Premier course and the more friendly and relaxing feel of their clubhouse with spectacular views across the Cheshire countryside.
The course was in fantastic condition and everything was well managed with a warm welcome and a great breakfast from Donna and her team in the clubhouse and Paul out on the course. Thanks to Gareth in the central office too for his efficiency with the booking, making my job as secretary much easier. The building itself could do with some TLC, to bring it back to a standard that matches everything else about the Premier. Long may it continue, because we’ll always be back!
The room was great queen size bed tv etc
Bath room wasn’t very good, massive crack in the sink looks awful the shower looked like something out of a council estate.
The golf course was nice beautiful setting but the greens were hammered but that’s down to the idiots not looking after the course and repairing pitch marks.
Dinner is where it went wrong, I ordered the burger and chicken wings and ribs, I was starving so really looking forward to my meal. The burger bum was dripping in grease I should of sent it back but I was so hungry I would of eaten pretty much anything but the chicken and ribs went back! The chicken tasted like fairy liquid and the ribs were like chewing on an old boot. The girl I spoke to said the chief was new and the wing and ribs came from a new supplier! They refunded my drink which was pretty rubbish imo.
Breakfast then I asked for the Avocado and bacon which I couldn’t have due to them not having any in the hotel. The other choices wasn’t that good either so I settled for the fruit.
Question is yes I would stay again as the staff were friendly and nice but I think I will be eating out next time and popping the MD’s for brekkie
