With a unique blue glass exterior, designed by world-renowned architect Thom Catallo, Taj Club House is one of the most distinctive hotels in southern India. Ideally located in downtown Chennai, this five-star property combines old-world charm with up-to-the-minute amenities. Its grand black and cream marble lobby leads to 220 rooms where polished wood floors, leather headboards and silk drapes set the slick urban tone, and recessed lighting and a gold and honey color palette add warmth to the mix. Premium Rooms come with access to the Executive Lounge for all-day drinks and snacks. Sample local Indian dishes at Beyond Indus, European bistro fare at Club House, or health-conscious Mediterranean cuisine at Kefi. After a hard day of working or sightseeing, relax with a few laps in the rooftop pool or a muscle-loosening massage at Jiva Spa.
In the Area
Tourists have long overlooked Chennai — but that’s beginning to change. This cultural capital is experiencing a renaissance, with a slew of hip new clubs, stores and restaurants opening up around town. Head to 10 Downing Street for excellent gastropub fare, or Ottimo for wonderful pizzas. For a dose of local culture, make a beeline for the 7th-century Kapaleeswara Temple or catch a traditional dance performance at Kalakshetra.
How to Get There
Too bad we only stayed one night. Lovely room and bathroom, excellent staff and sumptuous delicious breakfast with larghe selection of Asian and Western food. Excellent sleep quietly. Sort of in the middle of nowhere so it's very qiet.
First time at this hotel. Excellent customer service, large rooms, comfortable bed, nice shower. The hotel cars are good quality and reliable with nice drivers. Only negative is the location - about 30-40mins from the airport and not near the saree shops. However there is a new large mall 5mins walk from the hotel although the walk can be life endangering! For the price, it is an excellent hotel for business travellers.
The rooms size is just about ok. Toilets are too small. Just like they have in a train. Towels provided in the bathroom were not even equal in size. Breakfast menu is elaborate but just average. Wash basin near the pool had a broken tap. All in all worst experience from Taj
The staff is polite and my overall experience was good. If you are looking for a quite place to relax then Taj club house should be your choice. My room was comfortable. It’s not crowded or noisy like other hotels.
The property is quite good, but not as luxurious as the other Taj properties. No garden, average gym and average rooms - not super luxurious, but functional. It seems more of a cross between a 4 star and a 5 star, rather than a full-fledged 5 star. But worth its price - it's good value for money.
