Overview

Style meets exclusivity at a seaside hotel in Milano Marittima, with breakfast and access to the private beach club

The Lowdown

Surrounded by verdant pine forests which lead down to its very own private beach, MarePineta Resort has recently emerged from a swish restyle by prestigious Studio Lissoni, restoring it to its former splendour. For many years one of the go-to destinations in Milano Marittima (an upscale bolthole for aristocratic city dwellers in the Northeastern province of Ravenna), it retains an air of glamour and sophistication. Also in the grounds is the MarePineta Tennis Club, boasting no less than ten clay courts, which hosts international tournaments.
During your stay at MarePineta, you’ll make your home in a superb room at Villa Regina – a more modern addition to the original 1920s main building, featuring sleek lines, gleaming mirrored glass and hand-picked designer furniture. Elsewhere, spend time at the sparkling outdoor pool, mix and mingle at the private beach club set on pristine sands, and work up a sweat at the open-air Technogym. Throughout your sojourn you can expect VIP treatment, as well as bold flavours at two restaurants headed up by Michelin-starred chef Andrea Ribaldone – with all this, you’re guaranteed a stay that’s a cut above the rest.

quality of service at the Restaurants improved dramatically!
muzungu57

last year, i complained about the qualitiy service at the restaurants (waiting waiting waiting and and and). we came back this year, the booking worked perfectly, even the changes "last minute" were handled great! as always, we arrived very early in the morning (around 10AM), were greated warmly, checked in and went for breakfast. the rooms were already ready, that made it very easy for us so 1 hour later we were already at the beach were we could get two cabanas!
we realised that the quality of service (speed, handling orders) increased dramatically at the main restaurant, at breakfast and also at the beach. the quality of the food is still very high and we loooooove the different pastas! houskeeping was never an issue, the ladies are doing a great job for many years!
why only a "very good" and not an "excellent" then? well, the gym could still improve! i like it in the tent, together with the "locals" but it's small and sometimes veeeery hot!!
San Lorenzo at the beach i would do with a dimmed light and with a bit back ground music over dinner but that's my thought.
we are all looking forward to going back to MarePineta in 2020 for sure!! Grazie mille

Second time here and still wonderful
imherealso

It often strikes me as funny what different experiences people have at the same hotel. This is our second time here in a big family group and both times have been magical. The pool is wonderful, especially for kids, the food is great and the service is always fantastic. It is especially lovely to be within walking distance of Cervia and Milano Marittima, and there are some fab days out nearby if you have a car. The central reception does control the AC if a room is empty so sometimes you have to remind them on the first day when you enter your room to give control over to you, that only happened to us in one room once. There is a safe in every room for valuables, passports and money and we would have no concern about leaving small amounts of cash/our phones/tablets out, nothing has happened to them at all.
There is a free kids club but it isn't an 'English' activity based club, its much more 'Italian' very laid back and casual hanging out with kids, they mostly speak Italian though I believe they do all speak a bit of English and other European languages, I'd say its not good for younger children.
You can hear a little from the floor above but it has never kept us awake or bothered us at all.
I certainly hope we come back again!

reaching the best level ever....

More then 25 years ago we visited this hotel for the first time, then with our young children. Year after year we come back, now with children and grandchildren. We saw the evolution of the hotel, different management, different levels of satisfaction. The classical advantages are still the same, the best possible location, a perfect beach, large gardens, perfect swimming pool..The new management had already improved over the last couple of years, but this year they reached the best level ever. Already when we booked directly, we felt welcome as our booking is really personnally followed up on. Two new maîtres d'hotel organised the restaurant and beach restaurant services in a perfect but friendly way. The level of the restaurant was excellent, with some novelty "show coocking" of very exquisite pasta.. The cleaning staff well organised and efficient.. As was the reception desk. The beach service perfect and again very friendly. Some youngsters in the staff really made a difference, Pina and Davide in the restaurant staff, Baba in the bar, Marco at the beach... they all helped us to have a perfect stay. One problem....for the first time, our (four) 6 and 4 year old grandchildren refused to go home.
