Surrounded by verdant pine forests which lead down to its very own private beach, MarePineta Resort has recently emerged from a swish restyle by prestigious Studio Lissoni, restoring it to its former splendour. For many years one of the go-to destinations in Milano Marittima (an upscale bolthole for aristocratic city dwellers in the Northeastern province of Ravenna), it retains an air of glamour and sophistication. Also in the grounds is the MarePineta Tennis Club, boasting no less than ten clay courts, which hosts international tournaments.
During your stay at MarePineta, you’ll make your home in a superb room at Villa Regina – a more modern addition to the original 1920s main building, featuring sleek lines, gleaming mirrored glass and hand-picked designer furniture. Elsewhere, spend time at the sparkling outdoor pool, mix and mingle at the private beach club set on pristine sands, and work up a sweat at the open-air Technogym. Throughout your sojourn you can expect VIP treatment, as well as bold flavours at two restaurants headed up by Michelin-starred chef Andrea Ribaldone – with all this, you’re guaranteed a stay that’s a cut above the rest.
How to Get There
The hotel is right across the street from tennis courts , beach and beach club . All are awesome. The half board package is amazing.. The breakfast Buffett is huge everything you can think of . And the menu for half board is great. I had a treatment at the spa (hair) and it was superb.. The staff are super friendly and so so helpful ... Airin the concierge is magnificent.. She will help with everything you need .. We love coming to this place and we have come back 3 years now.. And we will be back next year ..
Great location next to the beach. Private hotel beach has a lot to offer. Nice hotel restaurant for taking half board. Very good food and extremely nice hotel staff. Always nice to see same faces every year. Proximity to one of the beautiful tennis clubs is an asset. Last but not least VALUE FOR MONEY!
Although I was there for a conference it felt like a vacation. Everything from the view off my balcony to the room and food was beyond excellent! I would return for a holiday in a heartbeat! Across the street there is clay tennis courts and a promenade leading to the shores of the Adriatic Sea. Within walking distance you can watch the small fishing boats returning with the days catch and have fresh fish for dinner along the docks.
The room had a double bed pushed up against the wall and less than 1 meter space to the other wall and the cupboard at the end of the bed. The fridge doesn't work nor the air con. There is no kettle in the room. No iron available - apparently it's against the law. Come on Italy!
Went with a large family group. Highlights included lovely waiters in the main and beach restaurant - loads of character and really got to know us. Beautiful breakfast location each morning we all could have sat out and chatted as a family there for half the day. Beach was gorgeous and we loved our cabana especially with our baby girl - great for her to roll around on.
Sadly hotel management is poor and the hotel lacks finesse overall. Particular point would be the handling of an issue where something went missing from my room. My husband had bought with us from uk as a surprise a beautiful bottle of gin and half of it disappeared on the first morning in between going to and from breakfast. I had barely even tasted it the night before so it was practically a full bottle prior to this. I was extremely distressed and concerned (made me wonder what else might have disappeared!) reported it to the front desk who failed to even call me back. Went to speak to the manager personally and in tears as I felt quite violated and management said they would look into it and get back to me. No one got back to me, had to go myself again the next day when I was patronised and made to feel I was going mad. We certainly did not drink that gin (my husband doesn’t like it and I’m breastfeeding so drink a small amount as an occasional tipple with a tonic) and the mystery of where it went remains unsolved! It may have been an honest accident where it spilt (though even there the cork was pretty firm in the bottle so unlikely..) but it was handled so poorly I’m afraid it left a terrible taste and I remained unimpressed by the hotel the rest of the stay. A small gesture of apology or reassurance from the manager would have quickly turned that around.
I’m afraid I wouldn’t recommend the hotel. They need to sort out service and their management to get anywhere near to 5*. Large families still seem to visit I think out of historical word of mouth but it doesn’t merit that reputation anymore. What a shame as the location is lovely and local ice cream is ace ☺️
