A colonial city
Reviewed 2 months ago

The hotel ia very beautiful im a colonnial style. The food is excelent and the service outstanding. The city is full of incredible museums and its history is very important when trying to understand Mexico as a country. The bike tour is a must and the guides are very knowledgeables. The cathedral and the principal churchs explain the wealth of the city exploited by the spanish conquerors. A must if you want to visit other parts of Mexico outside the very visited beaches.

Room was ready until 6 pm

Great architecture, however we arrived at 3 pm and the room was not ready, they said they will call us, that didn't happen. We went outside to walk and when we came back at 6 :30 pm the room was ready, no phone call received.
The place is beautiful!! Romantic and very charming!!!
We found some toe nails on the floor of the room, they weren't ours, so they don't vacuum properly.

A unique hotel , build around what used to be the colonial ruins of a bullring from 1880's
, Suits are huge and spacious , rooms and bath rooms are very clean even that rooms all -ready show some wear . It was inagurated as hotel in 1989.
Bed and linings are very confortable . Can stay in bed till noon there !
the hotel spaces , restaurant , patios are beautiful . Restaurant has a great kitchen and good cheffs , and service is also exelent .Dont miss sunday brunch .
Walking distance from downtown and historic district . will stay there every time in Zacatecas .

Nice building, terrible service
Reviewed 5 months ago

The building of the hotel is marvelous and we enjoyed having breakfast with a view.

The treatment we experienced, however, was terrible. Nothing I ever experienced in any hotel, let alone a five-star hotel.

We were having a special occasion, so I opted for special decoration, champagne, late check-out etc., which the hotel completely forgot about. This was really disappointing as it was one of the reasons to chose this hotel.

Upon check-out we pointed out we never received any of those special services. They didn’t apologize for their mistake and made us wait 30 minutes for them to figure out their mistake. On the contrary, they made us feel like we were complaining too much. When the manager stepped it, before apologizing, he blamed the system for their mistake. When he offered to reimburse us for a fraction of the package we had paid for, he made it seem like he was doing us a favor. Despite pointing that out, we still ended up paying more for the stay than if we would never have picked the special package in the first place.

Mistakes happen and we didn’t ask for any more than not being charged for something we didn’t get. It’s how unprofessionally they responded what disappointed us.
