Was a very bad experience, service is awful, the concierge lady is unhelpful she doesn’t like her job, the complete place is old and not clean, service people is in bad mood all the time, the only good thing is the location because is in downtown and we can walk everywhere easy

Not welcoming

Wanted to view the property for a stay as I had concerns about the proximity to the Plaza de Armas and noise levels.

The moment I walked in, a condescending young woman playing hostess made me feel unwelcomed and told me to keep out of the way of her waiters. Wow - I'm a grown woman with a solid set of life skills which includes not impending the staff from completing their duties. The front half of the hotel is the restaurant and I wanted to see what the property has to offer because I was looking for a top notch hotel with a half-way decent pool. Before I could even decide if this was a property where I wanted to stay, the hostess chased me off telling me I wasn't allowed to look at the property.

As a female, solo traveler, it is important to me to feel comfortable and welcome when seeking accommodations and I felt neither - so, decision made. My platinum card won't be used at this Meson.

I will, instead, stay at boutique Hotel Serafin where there may not be a pool but the staff has is gracious and welcoming.

Just a bad stay

I don't have words to express my disappointment. I have been there several times though out the last 15 years. This time I walked in and almost fainted. They remodeled and they turned it into a cheap hotel. Painted tile through out the hotel and rooms, gold. The stone work, and fireplaces also gold. The lack of respect for what exactly you visit a Mexican
historical property, they managed to butcher it. The service is so poor and not for lack of the personnel trying, it's basically lack of proper training. Definitely no longer a 5 star hotel. Shame because it was a beautiful property.

Definitely Not a 5 Star Hotel

This is a beautifully decorated, rustic, colonial building converted into a boutique hotel. The design and decor is very nice, but definitely hides what the hotel lacks in service and amenities. Room was not serviced regularly despite asking several times, towels were always minimally replenished, only 2 bath towels for 2 guests, no small hand towels, pillows missing pillow cases, sink not draining, no hooks anywhere near the shower to hang towels. This was a nice hotel, but definitely do not expect 5 star service and amenities.

Very tiered and run down. Bad service. No amenities. No bath robes, and not a nail on bathroom walls to hang a towel. No drinking water. Only good thing is the location. Claims 5 stars, I would give it 2. Run from this place.
