Best colonial surprise.
Reviewed 1 month ago

I just arrived home from one of the most detailed filled getaway. The staff is super polite yet professional. We stayed at room "Toña" and everything was awesome. Please ask for Mr Rosendo. He will surely recommend the best option suited for your vacation experience. I loved the breakfast (spinach omelette/ Gruyere). Waiters so attentive... And at checkout the concierge was so nice!
An overnight awesome surprise. Highly recommended!
FYI: Try the craft beer Babilonia!

Being born & raised in Puebla, every time that I get the chance to go back to visit family & friends, this is THE place to stay. It offers great food, very convenient location, nice cocktails and the attention to detail in each room is amazing! (We have tried most of them by now). 5

The place is cute and the food is good, the service is not that good, they “forget” to prepare a dish, so the food came in different moments... the floor of the patio where we have breakfast was really dirty and is an indoor place... good thing they are pet friendly!! But please people clean the patios!!!

Friendly staff but noisy

The hotel is situated in a lovely street and the building itself is a beautiful converted colonial building. We had a nice room called “Frida” which opened up to a communal area.
The staff was very friendly and enormously helpful which we really appreciated. Breakfast and dinner were very good too.
Our problem with the hotel was the constant music from which you cannot get away. The constant drone of light pop music from 8 in the morning till late in the night became unpleasant and unnecessary. The rooms are meant to be soundproof but in effect they aren’t, certainly not when in the evening you get the music from the roof terrace.
Apart from this El Sueno is a hotel with a lot going for it, but if you are sensitive to noise it might not be the best option.

Nice boutique hotel

Very well located in the heart of Puebla’s downtown, this small hotel has very nice rooms, excellent service, very good breakfast and very service-oriented staff. Just one block from some good museums and restaurants and a 5 minutes walk to the Cathedral.
