Like staying in a family museum
Reviewed 2 months ago

This is a quaint hotel with excellent service and although a bit outside the main historic area this can be a benefit as it is in a quieter location and this can matter if you happen to visit during the Cervantes festival - like us, we had two rooms and I would recommend staying in those outside the main hotel as they are more private, I would also not recommend the Jacuzzi suite (unless you plan to use it) as it is near some mechanical waterworks that produce some noise.
Distance to the center is about 3Km - half of which at least is a pleasant walk.
I noticed a review that complained that the breakfast was just coffee and juice - perhaps the customer misunderstood, coffee and juice as well as any one menu item were included and we all found them to be particularly good - best breakfast of the trip.

Most Beautiful Restful Place

My husband and I spent 13 wonderful days in one of the cottage. I was so impressed by the charm and cleanliness of the place. The sculptures are an added treat while walkingbthe most beautiful gardens of ever blooming flowers. This place offers so much more than your average hotel. Not only are you welcomed to partake of the natural herbal teas growing about...they have wild parrots too! Truly remarkable place! Highly recommend.
Thank you Bonita and Edwardo!

Superb property and service

Everything about this hotel was superb. Location removed enough to be tranquil yet close enough to walk (20-30 min) or take taxi to historic center. Staff were amazingly helpful, attentive and pleasant. Definitely will stay here again next time visit Guanajuato!

Surprisingly beautiful hotel, very nice
Reviewed 7 months ago

I had booked this hotel based on reviews I read, I had no idea how nice it is. From the front, I thought it was a nice historic building, but behind it, up the hill, there's a series of terrace gardens and other rooms that are beautiful and have great views of the valley. They upgraded us to the 'Frida Kahlo' room, or their 'Presidential Suite', which was at the top of the property... good exercise every day, but a lovely room with lovely views. The neighborhood is nice, a relaxing place to walk around, with some reasonably tasty restaurants/cafes near-by. Service was good. Breakfast was OK, not the best, but not bad either. We would certainly stay here again.

Romantic setting

Romantic, friendly, quite spot. Can't wait to go back. Close to everything you would want to see, yet it seemed far away that you could relax. Pool was a plus and garden like setting, black berries growing, fruit trees, along the beautiful mountains surrounding you. Walking areas close by, wonderful breakfast every morning. A place to have a drink and enjoy, the beautiful setting.
