Wonderful hotel and location!
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Everything about this hotel is elegant and spotlessly clean. I was in the Isable suite with a balcony overlooking the Jardin de la Union, which is the center of everything. The location couldn't be better.

The staff were very pleasant. I just met Betty the manager while leaving and she was so kind it makes me want to return just because of her.

Beautiful Hotel in great location
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This is a very nice boutique hotel, with very up to date and stylish rooms. The service also is great and attentive. The location is right next to one of the main plazas and the theatro Juárez, which is perfect for walking tours through the city. The small down part about this is that you cannot drive directly to the hotel by car, but when you get close and call the bell boys come to your location to park the car for you in a remote location.

The hotel also has a nice rooftop bar with a beautiful view of the city, especially at night. The only pity there was that they were out of most of the items on the menu when we were there, and this should not happen two nights in a row especially on slow nights. Other then that, great hotel.

First of all I want to say that this was our best anniversary celebration getaway we have ever experienced. We couldn’t have picked a better hotel than this beautiful gem in the center of it all.Everything about this hotel is top notch starting from the amazing staff that greeted us upon our arrival and during our stay we were treated like royalty from every single person their. Our room we picked was the Deluxe Suite Isabel which we were very happy with.No noise whatsoever even with all the music played.Breakfast daily was at the restaurant next door called Casa Valadez they have an excellent breakfast menu and or dinner menu.We enjoyed our breakfast their every day and also celebrated our wedding anniversary dinner at this fine dining restaurant I highly recommended this place they have an excellent choice of meats and wines for a nice romantic dinner. Our hotel concierge reserved a window table for us that evening right across from the theater and I had a mariachi band sing us a couple of songs for our special occasion.I would like to mention all the wonderful staff that made our stay so special because they work so hard and so professional at what they do but also their hospitality and friendship.Thank you Betty,Daniel,Lorena,Magda,Berenice,Megumi,Amanda,Michel,Vicky,Francis,Alegria,Rosy,Angel,Oscar,Miguel, Pedro,Gabriel,Luis, Bar One-Ruben,Luis,Damian and Carlos you all deserve to be recognized for you are what make this great hotel what it is and and us guests coming back.

That personal touch

I have been waiting to return to Guanajuato and stay at the 1850 Hotel. It is so convenient to be at the main plaza. The hotel is beautifully decorated by a designer and has a warm cozy feeling starting at the reception desk which gives one the feeling of a meeting a personal service agent. The Alexis room is beautifully decorated and with high ceilings one gets the feeling of space. The bath has hot water with good pressure continuously and the sink is made from stone and is illuminated from inside. Slippers and a thick terry robe are offered. The room has a low table and lounge chairs for guests and a king size bed. There are adequate electrical outlets and a low dresser with a good size television over it. The windows are curtained and overlook the central atrium with huge hanging lamp shades. The staff are lovely and taxi arrangements can be made ahead to and from the airport. The last endearing feature was the coffee offered and a brown bag for breakfast in the cab on the way to the airport.

Business Trip

Great location in the historic downtown area. Within walking distance of coffee, restaurants, theater and many other options from a tourist perspective. A bit of a challenge to get there via car due to the underground tunnels but the hotel does offer a service and can point you in the right direction. The hotel rooms at the front of the hotel can be a bit noisy at night as you the mariachi bands have their nightly duels.
