How to Get There
This luxurious, centrally located Ritz-Carlton Budapest offers informality with its elegance. While its décor nods to the grace of a bygone age, much like Budapest itself, elements such as the warm and welcoming service bring it into the 21st century.
The hotel is as central as they come, with Váci utca, St Stephen’s Basilica and Andrássy út all very close, as is Fashion Street with some great shopping. The main metro hub is also on the doorstep.
Despite the imposing early-20th-century façade and stained-glass cupola, the hotel has a relaxed feel, its high style softened with vases of flowers and comfortable sofas.
The staff are very friendly and attentive – I’ve never before witnessed a guest hugging the concierge at checkout! The spa has a swimming pool, gym, sauna, steam room and beauty treatments.
Stayed in one of the Club Rooms 828 which was fantastic, the team in the Club Lounge were very friendly and helpful. It's worth paying the extra to have access to the Club Lounge. Well done to the team at Ritz Carlton. I'm returning end of April!
Ritz is always a nice hotel. Rooms are nice but small. Everything is dissent, however i think it is expensive for the experience it offers and the location, which though close is not by the river and has no river view.
Everyone was very helpful except for the mixologists at the bar. As always the room was excellent the service second to none, but the guys at the bar were lazy and had a bad attitude ... too bad!
Breakfast was very good and service at the restaurant was excellent ... very friendly, pleasing and attentive.
The hotel is very nice. It's expensive, but worth it if one can afford it. The location is perfect. There is a tram/bus stop directly in front so it's easy to catch public transportation to get around the city. It is also within easy walking distance of the main pedestrian walkway with shops and restaurants. There is a park across the street with a Budapest Eye (large Ferris wheel). The staff is very friendly and helpful, and there is always a doorman at the entrance to assist if needed. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable.
A small boutique hotel located directly opposite the busy Erzsebet Ter Park. It was a leisure and easy walk to the River Danube/Chain Bridge/ Synagogue. I would give the hotel location five stars rating. There were many happy performers in the park in the afternoon and late evening.
Breakfast was in the stylish Kupola Lounge with a wide spread of choice. We chose an outside table at the hotel’s Deak St Kitchen for lunch. Great people watching spot. Food was above average.
The room was a good size (34sqm) and with the signature RC high bed. Our room overlooked the park and was a tad noisy during the weekend (thus the four stars).
All in all great value for money.
I will try the Four Seasons Gresham Palace in my next visit to Budapest.
