Overview

Cozy family-run retreat with an authentic Swiss restaurant and a free shuttle to the slopes

The Lowdown

In a prime position in the swank ski town of St. Moritz, Hotel La Margna is a charming family-run property surrounded by snow-covered mountains, 217 miles of ski runs and stunning alpine landscapes. The comfy south-facing guestrooms have chalet-style pine furnishings, and they overlook the mountains and St. Moritz lake. After a day on the slopes, relax in the spa, which features a steam bath and a sauna, then fill up on hearty alpine dishes (fondue, raclette) in the Stüvetta dining room or tuck into more contemporary cuisine at the La Margna restaurant.

In the Area

The popular resort town of St. Moritz is one of the most exclusive ski destinations in the world and has twice hosted the Winter Olympics. It’s a major hub for skiers, snowboarders and hikers, with speedy ski lifts that whisk visitors up into the mountains for a day of winter sports. The region caters to all skill levels, with nursery slopes and glacier runs, and it’s also lined with designer boutiques and award-winning restaurants. Ecco on Snow and Talvo are great options for fun-loving foodies, while the Chesa bar, housed in a farmhouse owned by Badrutt’s Palace Hotel, is a fancy après-ski spot.

Swiss quality is what to expect...

This hotel lives up to it's 'Quality' name! Nothing to complain about because you have so much convenience within direct reach of the hotel like the main train station and restaurants. There are splendid panoramic views over Lake St.Moritz and the Swiss Alps. After a long day skiing, make sure to enjoy the on-site spa facilities.

Try the two restaurants, they are a real find when visiting Sils

We ate several times in the large garden of this beautiful hotel, where the tables are protected from any wind and the garden atmosphere is perfect. It is such a lovely experience. The food is excellent and the service very professional. There is also a smaller restaurant called the Stuva inside, a smallish room with beautiful wood panelling all over and charming views outside through the windows. It is very traditional and cosy. Its like a picture in a fairy tale. Its the same food and its delicious. After coming for several years to Sils we finally found this restaurant and are very glad. Vert friendly and knowledgeable waiters, who really know their wines as well. The wine list was extensive and interesting and the food delicious. I wish we had found this restaurant earlier!

Perfect Christmas !!
