Great week at Simpson Bay Resort & Marina
Reviewed 2 days ago

We spent a week here and had a wonderful time. Just wanted to tell you what to expect. When you check in or make your reservation, ask to stay in the Villas down by the beach. We were booked in Building B up on the hill and it was a steep walk down and back up to our unit. There was a great huge pool with a swim up bar by our unit, but I want to lie on the beach all day! The property has several pools. Get your towels, provided by the resort, and head down early to save your beach chairs. There is staff there to help you and you need to have dollars to tip them. Your stuff is safe. We had no problems. There are wonderful wait staff who will come by and take your food or drink orders. If you don't want to eat on your beach chair, you can go over to the little outdoor restaurant right on the beach and eat in the shade. The beach is nice, a little rocky, but not bad. I didn't need shoes to wade in. The surf is light and you can float or swim easily. There is Wifi available in your room and at the beach, but it in NOT secure. Make sure you take precautions.
There is a market on the property and you can buy food. We bought things to have breakfast in our room every day. The Mexican restaurant on the property has a great breakfast every day. VERY GOOD. We ate it our last day there.
There is an Italian restaurant and a sports bar also on the property. There is a piano bar and a casino, but we didn't go to those. You can walk easily into town and we ate at Topper's one night. Great food and they make their own flavored rum. Ask for a rum tasting! We bought some to bring back. They also have Karaoke nightly.

Every element of our Simpson Bay Resort stay was just great! One element stood out as just above and beyond...the Lambada sunset cruise! WOW! Captain and crew showed us just what customer service means....welcoming, friendly, professional. The boat was clean to a fault. Fantastic in every way! The Captain let my son, with his able assistance, actually manuver the ship. It was the hit of his vacation! If you get a chance, I highly recommend the Lambada for your sunset cruise!!

Great Place!

We stayed for one night only prior to our scheduled weeklong sailing trip. It appears that we were lucky to get a room as they were completely booked up. The front desk apologized about our room not having a view, but when we got in we found that there was a nice ocean view after all. The room had essentially a full kitchen with a home size fridge, dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave and a full complement of dishes, cups, pots, pans and basically everything you would need to save money by having meals in your room during a longer stay. The bed was very comfortable and the whole accommodation was very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is an excellent Italian restaurant right across the street along with a well stocked grocery store, casino and piano bar. The resort has its own sports bar and Mexican restaurant where we had lunch. Pizza and fish tacos were very good. All in all a very nice spot very close to the airport. No need to go anywhere else in my opinion.

My 4 Day vacation at Simpson Resort

The Hotel had a great view of the Marina, Airport landing strip and the bridge all from my balcony. The room was clean. The Television was a bit outdated...but you did not go St. Maarten to watch cable?? It was not a problem for me. The room was spacious. The Hotel's access to the beach with the bar was great. Will definitely go again. They are vegan options at the hotel and through out the country!! Vegan-friendly.

As far as resorts go I believe Simpson Bay in St Maarten is the best vacation in the Caribbean. Unbelievable suites, incredible beach front, extremely helpful staff. You return home tan, relaxed and well rested.
