How to Get There
I usual stay at the Citizen M but they were full so opted for the Bilderberg. What a mistake! During the night I was repeatedly woken up by what can only be described as a short, sharp siren at infrequent times. I packed my stuff up and reported it in the morning to reception. That evening I arrived and asked reception whether it was fixed they said there was an issue that couldn't be fixed and handed me back my room key. I obviously pointed out that I hadn't slept and wouldn't stay in the same room at which point I was given a new room. That night I had the same experience, with the new room. I would not recommend staying at the Bilderburg or if you do get some ear plugs. Poorly maintained air-conditioning units is my guess, coupled with very poor customer service.
There were 4 people at check in but only one knew how to use the computer, it took 25 min. to check in a prepaid visit .... and they add a service charge of ca. €10:-/ night
The room has an empty fridge ... not even mineral water. The Bath so small that you can only enter the tub/shower if you climb on top of the WC! ( the tub is for midgets and the rest for gymnasts ) AND the bathroom is freezing cold. All the beddings ( blanket & pillow ) are made if synthetic and the Matress is covered with plastic so you perspire enormously at night. The AC is very loud and you can not open the windows or lower the shades.
So it beats me where all the mosquitoes come from at night!😳 But they are there in plenty.
The staff is friendly but so very un- knowledgeable (all trainees ?) the expensive breakfast was good.
AND there was som kind of Street festival that made it impossible to sleep before 23:00 at night.
The choice of this hotel was the location, central and walking distance from everything but also the private parking. I had to pay half a day extra for leaving the car in their parking a little bit longer for the reason that inexistent customers might need it while the parking was almost empty! The bed was soft and the pillows too thick and hard - should be the other way around. Otherwise ok, but I somehow doubt the cleaness when I find in the sink hair that doesn't belong to me...
My sister and I stayed here on a short city break to Rotterdam. The hotel is modern, clean and well maintained. The room was spacious and comfortable and the hotel represented good value for money.
The hotel is located very centrally with a 5-10min walk into the main shopping/entertainment areas. It has a great coffee shop and grocery store also with 5 minutes walking distance.
I used this hotel as a base for running the Rotterdam marathon. Staff were very supportive and the hotel hosted a “pasta party” the night before the race.
A great base for exploring Rotterdam .
The room is perfectly located in Rotterdam. Not too far from major shopping areas and only a few steps from Witte de Withstraat, a funky eclectic collection of bars, restaurants and all around Dutch weirdness. Highly recommended. The central rail station is a short tram ride away and can even be walked on a nice day.
The breakfast is always pleasant and plentiful. I love the espresso machine and the fresh fruits.
The rooms are always well appointed and the staff is always very accommodating.
