The Review

Located at the quiet west end of Grace Bay Beach, just 15 minutes away from Providenciales International Airport, Turks & Caicos Club provides a quiet, no-frills getaway on some of the prettiest beach in the Caribbean.

The colonial-style building, embellished with gingerbread trim, feels like a stately bed and breakfast. Each of the 21 suites opens out onto a private patio or balcony, where sand warmed by the sun is just steps away. The rattan furnishings and four-poster beds could use an update, and the bathrooms are on the small side, but the suites do have air conditioning and fully equipped kitchens with stainless steel appliances (which is useful, as there’s no hotel restaurant) and modern conveniences like iPod speakers and DVD players.

Guests can simply lounge on Grace Bay’s pristine sand or get active with free snorkelling gear to spy on the island’s vibrant reef, as well as kayaks, bicycles and Hobie Cats. The club can also arrange outings for golf, whale watching (April only), horse rides on the beach and fishing excursions.

Although the freshwater pool is a bit small, it certainly has sun, and sipping a glass of cold rum punch while soaking it in isn’t a bad way to spend an afternoon. A full breakfast is served poolside each morning, and the resort also has an air-conditioned exercise room. But that’s about it for amenities. If you’re looking for a big resort with lots of activities, Turks & Caicos Club isn’t for you — it’s more focused on a laidback, private experience that’s all about the beach.

Beautiful place, amazing staff

I will be recommending this place to absolutely everyone. Not only is it incredibly affordable, but it is also gorgeous. Photos do not do it justice. Joe and Megan were so welcoming and gave great suggestions. Joe even drove us over to Club Med one day so we didn't have to pay for a cab. The location was great - an easy walk to the beach, restaurants, and the supermarket. Definitely a family friendly place, but we are a group of 5 adults in our 20's and still had a great time, so don't be put off!

Great smaller place in Grace Bay

OK.. Just got back from a 5 night trip to the Turks. Great time.. The Island Club was GREAT.. Megan, Joe and staff were great. The grounds are kept up and the pool and rooms worked out nicely. Keep in mind this is not Beaches or Club Med. For the price and location it's the best. Will be back..

Why Turks & Caicos? In a word - RELAXED.

Grace Bay has the most beautiful beach in the Caribbean without any safety or security concerns. While we loved Jamaica and Mexico, you always have to be aware of your surroundings. We felt none of those safety concerns while perusing the island.

When I think of some of the challenges we have faced in other foreign countries (and I am not complaining here, but if you travel, you know what I am talking about), Turks & Caicos had none.

Everyone speaks English and the businesses take American dollars.

Why Island Club Grace Bay? In two words - FAMILY FRIENDLY.

All units have plenty of room to spread out - two bedrooms and a full bath upstairs, living room with sleeper sofa, and full kitchen downstairs. Clean and comfortable, and all units walk-out to a garden pool area that can best be described as an oasis.

No need to rent a car, we walked everywhere - bars, restaurants, grocery, shopping.

The short walk to the beach is manageable especially when you realize you are not paying beachfront prices.

But the icing on the cake is the staff - Megan, Debbie and Joe are absolute delights. These three and a small staff made sure we were comfortable at all times. Every morning, while obviously busting their humps, we were greeted with smiles and "good mornings." Many times they stopped to chat and Debbie even had coffee with us a few times.

Be careful, this place may ruin you for other beach experiences.

Great Choice for our Family of Six

We stayed in unit 6 at Island Club for 8 nights in April 2018. I rate it five stars not because Island Club is a 5-star Resort, but because it fully delivered on my expectations and exceeded them in some areas. It was also an excellent value for Grace Bay. For the price relative to other resorts in the area, I was fully satisfied with our 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath townhouse.

Two of the kids slept comfortably on the pullout couch, and one daughter claimed the half-bath on the ground level as her personal “getting ready” space. I felt comfortable with the kids being downstairs, and I pulled the hurricane shutters shut each night on the patio doors and balcony for added security and to block some of the morning sunlight. Our other two children slept in the upstairs bedroom with two single beds, and we slept in the master bedroom down the hall with a queen bed. The bathroom had a tub and shower with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. There is no daily cleaning service, but we did leave towels out on the patio table daily and they were replaced with fresh ones. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes for cooking pasta, pancakes, french toast, sausage biscuits, etc. We had a new gas grill on our private patio for grilling burgers and hot dogs.

Extra touches I really liked were the folding beach chairs and portable umbrella, coolers for taking drinks and snacks to the beach, and excellent WiFi service in the room and at the pool. The large assortment of pool and beach toys was a great perk as well. The pool was very nice and clean, and the 5-minute walk to the beach at Grace Bay opens to upscale beach chairs and umbrellas reserved for Island Club guests. We had TV in the main living area only, but plenty of satellite channels with excellent reception and picture quality.

Parking was safe for our rental van, with plenty of light in the parking lot and on our patio at night. The owners were nice folks and kept an eye on everything. They live on-site and were always around. The units being renovated currently in the south building will be super nice when completed. I hope all the units will receive the same makeover.

We walked to many local favorites: Shay Cafe (1 min), Turkberry & Anna’s Gallery (2 minutes), Danny Buoy’s, Pizza Pizza, Bella Luna & The Landing (less than 5 minutes), The Patty Place & Graceway Gourmet (6-7 minutes).

We would definitely stay at Island Club again. If we are fortunate enough to return, I would request a renovated unit and a unit that is not so near the main highway. We did have some road noise and could hear music/loud bass a couple nights from one of the local establishments (probably Danny Buoy’s). I downloaded a white noise app on my phone that we used nightly, amd we’ll probably bring our portable fan for white noise next time. Unit 6 is an end unit nearest the highway. End units have lots of windows which is nice, but an interior unit would have less morning sunlight and probably less noise. My ideal unit if we return would be a renovated interior unit or end unit not so near the highway. Thank you for providing us a perfect home base for a terrific vacation!

The Official Description for the property is an excellent and accurate description.

Unassuming from the outside but nicely landscaped on the inside, the location is excellent, within walking distance of restaurants, shops, groceries, and of course - the beach!

Beach is a short walk basically across the street, with beach chairs for guest use and nice swimming.

Beyond the location, the suite itself was super relaxing and perfect for a vacation. The full kitchen had everything one needs, and was supplemented with an outdoor grill. Comfortable seating indoors and outdoors encouraged relaxation, and 3 beds and 1.5 baths made for peace in the family. Internet was fast.

Pool was nice and had plenty of floatation devices available for play/relaxation.

Hosts were friendly and available when needed but not intrusive.

Money saved by not being right on the beach allows for budget to be used for vacation experiences.

An excellent choice.
