How to Get There
We had an awesome week of meetings at Sawgrass Marriott. I did not get to enjoy the golf course because I’m not a golfer but everyone was raving about it. I had a nice hotel room in the main building, very good size and space. I didn’t opt out of cleaning service because I like coming back to a made bed and clean room after a day of meetings. They were very accommodating with the food allergy requests of our large group. I enjoyed eating lunch outside but food always seemed a little heavy for lunchtime. The bar and pub were both very accommodating to our somewhat rowdiness. I really liked there were multiple options for after meeting drinks and late night. Having a Starbucks in the hotel was also awesome due to conference room coffee being blah. The conference area is not too far from the rooms unlike some other hotels. Wonderful awards night dinner. Overall, I highly recommend Sawgrass Marriott. Especially if you are going to enjoy the amenities!
For my recent experience with this hotel, I didn’t even stay there. I was trying to cancel my reservation 48 hours in advance, but they refused to uphold their corporate policy, because the event negotiated a 72 hour cancellation policy. First, how does a discrepancy like this happen? Second, the employee & manager I dealt with did not handle the situation well & ended the conversation by saying I’m getting charged & he hung up.
I have stayed here in the past & it was a terrible experience that time as well. The adjustable firmness dial was broken which meant the bed felt terrible & they refused to fix it.
In general, my experience with Marriott hotels have been subpar & continue to decline.
Second time dealing with this hotel & having a terrible experience, but numerous times dealing with a terrible Marriott. Due to this recent experience, not only did this hotel lose customers, but Marriott has lost customers.
For similar pricing, and more often than not better pricing, stay at One Ocean just a few short miles away. Nicer staff, hotel, & location.
When we stay here, it feels like home. Superb front desk staff, especially Zack, make you feel like a valued guest. The architecture and beautiful views combine to create a delightful resort. Onsite food and beverages are very good. Shuttle to beach club is handy and drivers are courteous and friendly. Even if you are not golf fanatics, try it, you will like it.
3 night early December stay, I booked the premium service suite. On arrival elite check in, asked and received 1pm late check out later changed to 2pm. Premium service rooms located at end of hall past registration so no need for elevators. Wife couldn’t get over size of 2 room balcony suite, everything spotless and wrap around floor to ceiling windows which were clean. Twice daily housekeeping and they are great, always remembered to change plastic in ice bucket, new toiletries nicer than standard Marriott.
Marriott Platinum got us free continental breakfast in restaurant with upcharge for full buffet, food and service was good, automatic gratuity seems to be added to all food and drinks at resort and they have it stamped on receipt so be careful or you will over tip as we did. Grounds and pools were really nice and plenty of bars on property. The premium service rooms include a small lounge for soft drinks free beer and wine and some snacks but no hot food, since it’s not really a concierge lounge the only suggestion I would have is that they serve real brewed coffee in lounge instead of the fancy machine that never worked during our stay. Really liked the Cabana beach club, we got a parking pass from front desk and drove 5 min every day. Food at Cabana club was really good and reasonable, pool was olympic sized and beach was great. Publix across the street for provisions, they have mini fridge in room.
Wife used spa, pricing not outrageous and she said facility was nice. They have washer/dryers open 24 hours at villas which came in handy. Went next door to TPC Sawgrass, we are non-golfers, go inside and ask for the storytellers tour, you will have a great time. We ended up having lunch in clubhouse afterwards. Go to Aqua Grill across the street for dinner, they have outdoor seating. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.
The location, views and amenities are great. The food was excellent. The outdoor area by the Pub was dirty. Tables were not bused, cigarette butts overflowing the lone ashtray and on the ground, and the fire pit glass was not in the pit but on the pavement around it. The halls on our floor were not vacuumed while we were there and the room could have been cleaner.
