How to Get There
My husband and I stayed at the Sawgrass Marriott Resort and Spa the week of December 3rd because my husband was on business travel. His job has a set rate for hotel stays which is not much at all for the Jacksonville area so we normally stay at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott. However, on this trip the room we were given was terrible! Cleanliness is not one of their strong suits and after seeing multiple things wrong with our room and being told they were full and we couldn't get another room, we decided to go elsewhere. Granted, by going to the Sawgrass Marriott it was going to cost us more out of pocket because the room rate was higher and we also had to pay a resort fee and parking of which none of that is charged at the Fairfield or the Courtyard which is across the street from the Fairfield but the Courtyard was booked up so we ended up choosing the Sawgrass Marriott. We ended up checking into the Marriott and after explaining our problems with the other hotel, they apologized and offered us a nice room of which we are Platinum Elite members with Marriott and usually get a room upgrade anyway, but I have to say the room we got was so very nice. The man at the check in was so very nice to us for our issues with the other hotel but he was nice during the entire stay we were there when we saw him. We had a corner room on the 6th floor (room 600) and it needless to say had the best view ever!!!! The only issues I can say about this room was that the AC worked the first 2 nights but after that, we had to turn it down to 64 and it was still warm in the room (December and not very hot outside but the room was kind of warm), we let them know about it and the maintenance came in to fix it while we were out on our last night there but the one control panel was not working when we got back to the room. The living room area has 2 thermostats and both were working all week except it started getting warm in the room but when maintenance worked on the AC, they did something to the one thermostat and it wasn't working at all and in fact the wall was cracked around the unit. The unit in the bedroom seemed to work better but the bathroom was warm but not too bad. The second issue was the toilet. To flush it, you had to push the lever down and pull it back up so it would stop running; it was just a nuisance that's all but something that I would think the room service staff would have caught as they are the ones that cleans the toilets. All in all, this hotel is very nice, clean (yes, I used wipes on the marble type end tables and TV table and they came out clean (just to prove a point to my hubby that the actual Marriott versus a Fairfield Inn by Marriott is better taken care of). There is a restaurant on the property that serves a wonderful breakfast (they serve lunch I believe and dinner too but we only had breakfast there) and there is a pub on property that serves drinks and food and a bar out in the common area and they have an actual Starbucks on the property as well. I have to say that I will definitely stay here again if I travel with my husband on business. Very nice resort/hotel.
The property is exceptional, but the staff is even better. Wes at the front desk is a customer service expert. Rachael goes above and beyond and is simply stellar. Gorgeous lobby, grounds, and views and the gym has everything you’d want and then some. Great place, and Wes and Rachael set it apart and above.
Simply amazing. Two weeks around Florida playing golf was topped off by this course I and hotel. Everything perfect apart from my swing!! You have to go. Already booked for 2019. Friendly efficient service at both the course and hotel. Can’t wait to return
An impressive first impression approaching hotel with mature landscaping and quiet location. Very open lobby with pretty views. Rooms are spacious, very comfortable and all rooms with a serene view. Plaza with restaurants and shops are within walking distance.
At 12 am midnight, hotel has a wedding party of some sort, where loud noises is heard in the rooms (hotel rooms are open into the lobby down on floor 1)
Called twice about the noise as it is so loud and the operator definitely has an attitude. Told me that it is a wedding and this is a hotel with bar (hence inference to just take the noise). And hung up on the call rudely.
Amazing, obviously individual guests don’t matter when it comes to large parties.
If you don’t mind loud noises late into the night way pass midnight, and hotel staff don’t care about such, then stay here. Otherwise stay far away.
I know I will definitely not choose this place again.
