How to Get There
We were at Resort for a business conference! I was impressed with food and service of all guests. Mediterranean Cafe downstairs serves a delicious breakfast buffet! Epcot was about a 8 minute walk. Boats are available for short ride as well! We walked to enjoy the lovely little strip mall on the way. We would definitely return for proximity to Disney but for a comfortable clean hotel. Sister Swan Hotel steps away also has good restaurants.
Business & pleasure trip. Rooms are nice and fair price for the Senior Rate. You get hit with a Resort Fee + parking fee. The restaurants are OK - but Las Vegas type expensive. $8.00 for a self serve breakfast burrito and $2.50 for a candy bar. The grounds and pool are very nice - did not use as it rained the entire stay. Not much at the Boardwalk, but you can walk over. You can walk to Epcot or take a boat. After 9 miles of walking the beds are nice and firm.
The holiday was great for the first four days, then we were awakened by jack hammers every morning, they shut the boat dock down for repairs and our room with a balcony overlooked the dock, could not get a boat to Epcot or Hollywood Studios anymore, I found some of the staff not very friendly, perhaps they don’t like working there, the room was okay, found a couple of the restaurants way overpriced, also too many covention people there they took over the bar, not a bad hotel but would really have to think hard for me to stay there again, still find it a bit dated.
First and foremost their ferry transport to Epcot and Hollywood Studios is down and it is not advertised on their website. They didn’t even tell us at check in and had to find out by going to the boats and seeing the sign. Then we leave Epcot later in day there is no spot for them I ask someone and they are sharing the spot with Hollywood Studios. Three buses came and none of them are for Swan/Dolphin. Finally one takes us AFTER stopping at Hollywood. You feel like an afterthought here. Stained toilets but nice rooms which is why I give it two stars. I am shocked by the treatment here and it’s is currently ruining my holiday weekend. I’ve attached a photo from the their website shows nothing about the inop ferry. I always stay at the Universal Resort Hotel Royal Pacific and don’t think I will venture back to Disney again.
We stayed with our 2 kids last month and we got a 2 double bed room. It looked a lot bigger in the photos. The closet door had to be completely closed to open the hall door and you had to straddle the toilet to close the bathroom door. We were there for 5 days and it was very clean but close quarters. The room was REALLY far from the elevators so it was a trek if you had to run up to the room for something. The rooms have been updated but they get used and abused so things like our door didn't really function right and our mini fridge would freeze things. The service to the parks was great but do note that their hollywood studios water taxi service is not running through June but it is walkable if you want. For the cost (I used SPG points) it was worth the convenience but you get what you pay for. Also the hotel charges a $28 resort service fee per night and parking is $23 a night. The 8000 wing has a weird fryer exhaust smell to it that I was really put off by but none of the other areas smelled bad. I think next time I would stay at the swan at the higher points level. Not the best experience but the facilities were nice and convenient. I did address our issues with the management after our return and their response did soften my frustrations on the trip. That email was the best service we got the whole trip.
