Convenient but could be more magical

I get it, you are there for the theme parks and not for the room but two full size beds in a standard room? I see kids dressed as princess all over the place but can’t find a queen or king bed in this “castle”. The bathroom was something you would expect to see on “It’s a Small World” and the door to the shower room didn’t even open all the way so even a Minnie Mouse would have a hard time getting in. However, even with the large bill and the small beds the hotel is very convenient to Epcot or any of the other park that you came to visit. Not to mention Magic Hours, getting you into the parks early because you stayed on property! Convenient restaurants are in the hotel and Many more within a short walking distance.

First of all valet parking was 35 dollars a night. Oh so I’ll self park? 25 dollars a night. Rooms were nice, but on the 12th floor room 12139 was too close to the outside fountains and very loud inside the room all day and night. I complained four times but no one returned my calls. Restaurants were way overpriced for what they were. Not enough signs around to direct us to where we needed to go. I expressed my concerns in a survey however manager only offered apology no compensation. A small refund would have been a nice gesture. Staff was nice but we won’t be going back. For the money they charge we expected better.

i stayed at the dolphin twice recently. first time was october 19-22 and the second was nov 29-dec 3, 2018.
first room was on the lobby level (i always request lobby level) east side. very nice room recently renovated. it was clean and fresh and everything was in working order.
i was graciously upgraded to a resort view room and was very pleased. i could not see fireworks from room but that was not important to me.
when i returned on november 29 for another 3 night stay, i was assigned a room on the west side. absolutely awful room. it was not very clean and it reeked of a foul odor almost resembling sweaty feet. the linens on the beds were worn and were in desperate need of replacement. the first night, i was wheezing a little bit but just thought it may have been the A/C in the room. i am an asthmatic and cold air sometimes affects me. even thought the A/C was on low, i did lower it even more.
the second night, my sister came to visit and noticed immediately the musty smelling room. we called the front desk to investigate the odor and no one responded.
we went to the front desk and spoke with the MOD. she
was apologetic and suggested housekeeping come and spray something to mask the must. i refused after explaining to her once again that i was asthmatic and cannot tolerate strong odors as it exacerbated my asthma.
she said she would speak with housekeeping and because she was going off duty shortly, she would tell the next MOD about our dilemma.
we later brought our complaint to the evening Manager on Duty, Joel. He was very apologetic and seemed genuinely interested in resolving our issue. I suggested a resolution and he agreed. i was very pleased with the way Joel handled my complaint in such a timely and fair manner. i WILL definitely stay here again and refer my friends and family as it is a beautiful hotel and in a very convenient location as well as reasonably priced compared to the nearby Boardwalk and Yacht and Beach Club Resorts.
Food is very overpriced no matter where you eat. Quality in the more expensive restaurants is good but don't waste your time or money at the quick eat places esp the Buffeteria. Awful and very expensive food but staff was very friendly and helpful.
if you have a choice, stay in the East side as it is already renovated. although one of the managers said the entire resort was renovated, it did not appear to be so on the West side lobby level. the carpets were worn in the hallways and as stated above, the room was musty smelling and linens on beds were worn.
Again, i would definitely recommend the swan or the dolphin and despite my experience, i would give it 5 stars

Our stay at the resort was exceptional. We were treated like rockstars. The staff and food at Fresh cafe is amazing! Chef Louis is unbelievable!!! Our server Fatima was so kind, helpful and friendly. The house keeping staff on floor 9 is extraordinary. Bridget Dzediku (the head of the house keeping staff). Provides unmatched customer service, extremely professional, kind, sincere and helpful. We stayed with our 2 children and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The hotel offers many family focused activities and we even had elves read the children a story and got to keep an elf, a book and a Santa boot mug along with yummy cookies and milk for a small additional fee. The kids loved it and it was such a sweet and whimsical family memory. Thank you Dolphin and staff for making our family vacation one of fond wonderful family memories that we will recount for years to come. Happy holidays from our family to your staff!!!

Good location, beautiful views and lobby but expensive

Like others have said in their reviews, location is great because both Epcot and Disney Hollywood studios are a short walk away. But everything is overpriced - from the rooms to the restaurants in the vicinity. We would probably have been better served by staying a bit further from the parks and getting a taxi. The lobby is beautiful and some of the rooms in the west tower have a very pretty view as well.
