How to Get There
Spent four nights at Hard Rock Hotel for the first time and it did not disappoint. The room was superb: clean, tastefully decorated, and roomy. The staff worked to make the stay enjoyable. Impeccable grounds, and the water taxi is a great way to get to Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. But the quick walk is equally pleasant. Teylor made the Club Level service fun as he was personable. Dahlia is probably the most hard working and efficient staff member I encountered even though she wasn't aware that I was looking. There could be additional help during check-in but the staff was friendly and informative. We chose the club level for the convenience of having a quick breakfast and snacks in between. I don't know that I would choose that option again; it was okay but sparse compared to other club level accommodations I've had in the past. So, while I won't give it a 5, it is still a great hotel for the amenities and well appointed rooms. We had two rooms and my son and nephew were in a room far away from us. When I called the front desk, they were willing to relocate them but the boys opted to stay where they were because they were comfortable.
The staff at the restaurant "The Kitchen" were amazing! They accommodated our request: cafe mocha, steak in the omelet, etc. Pictures to come later.
Hotel nice enough, it`s a gimmicky hotel. We were there to stay on a Universal resort which gave us the express passes and early admission. I liked the look of it and booked it. The room attendants we encountered were cheerful and helpful. The Kitchen Staff who served us were very good and attentive and we were happy to tip.
My travel companion had encountered insincerity from a jobsworth receptionist, he has Aspergers and can get flustered, and happened , not long after checking in, forgot our room number, even though the jobsworth had checked us in not 15 mins previous.
After sorting the matter, she responded to him with a condesending, "Have a nice day"!! Awful
The matter was discussed with the manager the following day after arrival, she had done a good job and I hope she followed up on her promise to deal with what happened.
The Beach Club, towel attendants, friendly and engaging. but, as is the case, there was one poolside barman, a fat bald one, who did a terrible job getting drinks and we ended up getting our own. Utterly useless.
15% gratuity included in the orders, takes away any sort of decent customer service, especially this useless bartender. Also, it would appear, as two guys who were travelling together, it can deemed it was homophobically instigated and a reluctance to serve us. His loss, the pink pound carries a lot of tipping.
America has gone down the pan a bit.
A real indication of how America is going down the pan.
Currently staying at Hard Rock Hotel. If you are in anyway educated about safety in the sun this is not the hotel for you. There are precisely 4 parasols for 200 plus loungers so no shade available. Apparently, the rest were damaged by storm winds and a hotel of this calibre does not stock spares. When you seek advice on alternative they point you to the $300 a day cabanas. That will add $3600 to our 14 night stay. When you complain to conceirge they agree they have issue and tell you use another one of their hotels! Wonderful customer service. Rooms require updating. That said, the staff are lovely and there is a nice upbeat vibe around hotel. As always, it’s such a shame that when problems do arise there is no one fully accountable to solve issue.
