How to Get There
A very comprehensive hotel and conference center. The grounds are beautiful. They have a nature preserve area. Not very big, but big enough for a 4-mile run (off the golf course) and you can see all sorts of birds. About the only drawback was the AC (and I was not the only guest that experienced this issue). It was virtually impossible to cool the room enough for at least me (and others). When the AC was on it was cool (and loud), but as soon as it turned off, the cool dissipated. I hope they fix this before summer really heats up.
Stayed here many time and can't fault the hotel at all . For the first time we spent quite a bit of time around the pool and it was so relaxing .
Headwaters could be better , drinks very expensive and it is very loud , the music was so loud on Sunday night that people were actually shouting to have a conversation making it pretty unbearable for a couple to have a drink and conversation , we ended up taking our drinks back to the room it was that noisy. .
We got given a corner room which was lovely with amazing views across the tourist area .
We'll definitely be back
I was in room 5229. Immaculately clean, very quiet, spacious, ample storage space. Lovely art works in both room and public areas. No fewer than 10 restaurants! Friendly helpful employees all through stay. Shower controls and alarm clock easy to use. Shower/bathtub needs a grab bar. Conveniently near MCO -- I was first off and last on the Mears shuttles from/to airport.
The hotel is quite large and has a variety of cuisines available, multiple pools, a gym, spa, small arcade, and of course a well maintained golf course. I was there for a conference and they have ample conference/seminar space that is located in one wing of the hotel so it didn't seem to impede the other guests at all, which was nice. The staff were all very friendly, and the events for the conference all seemed to run smoothly, which I credit to the hotel's event coordinators.
We didn't leave the hotel at all, but it was only about 20 minutes from Epcot, so the location is good for other sight seeing.
I would say the best food was at the burger restaurant, though we did not dine at either of the higher end restaurants, a high end Italian place and a steak restaurant, so I cannot speak to those, we did dine at 4 other restaurants and ordered room service so I feel confident saying the burger place is the best, with the Mexican place coming in second.
Drink prices were pretty average (but I'm from Los Angeles, so take that for what its worth).
I would say the only downfall were the bugs. Apparently we were there during "lovebug" mating season, and those things were everywhere. It seemed to me like nothing was done to attempt to get rid of them, and that they were just being tolerated. Now I don't know about you, but I don't like bugs in my food or drinks, or on my person, so for me it was quite bothersome. Truthfully though, other guests did not seem bothered. So perhaps that's just me being a prissy L.A. girl. All that being said, I would stay here again happily.
First I have to say that every single employee I encountered from front desk, to cleaning staff, to restaurants was exceptionally friendly and professional! The resort is beautiful and there is a lot to do on property. Food is very expensive, as is to be expected for a resort of this type. It is also an easy walk to a grocery store right across the street from the property if you want to grab some breakfast food for the room. The rooms have a refrigerator. My only minor complaint is that for a resort of this caliber, they really should provide actual mini-creamers with the coffee in the room instead of the powdered creamer.
