How to Get There
Great place to go for the kids. Three water slides, 3 hot tubs we found and several pools(one kid pool, one indoor and two outside), they give you towels to use at the pool which was a nice touch as well free bottled water. Just note that any hint of bad weather they shut all the pools down including the indoor one since they are all connected. Room was good but I noticed our bed linens had a bunch of black ink stains on them and the carpet could have used a vacuum. We had a great view from our room and the laser light show was fun for the kids. They have many places to eat on site but the prices for us were a bit much, it is better to go offsite. For instance $8 for tiramisu in the smallest ball glass container ever made, so sad. The hotel is very close to all attractions and we could see Disney Springs from our room. Still waiting though to receive a receipt for our visit they said I would get via email. Overall a nice place and check in was smooth.
A number of minor issues at the resort tarnished the whole experience. Items such as no clock in the room. Clock delivered but it didn't have a back light so you couldn't see the time at night. Was told the hotel didn't have back lilt clocks. Not true since 4 work colleagues in the same hotel had back lit clocks. Coffee supplies in the room not replaced. Service at the hotel restaurant was slow and not up to normal standards. Have stayed at the hotel before and not had any of these type of issues before
The breakfast buffet at Latitude & Longitude was great. I went in early and everything was set up, hot and there was plenty of everything. My wife ate the restaurant the day before and told me to make sure that I ask for Heim as my server. She was very friendly and took wonderful care of me. She also made it a point to make sure all my needs were taken care of. I thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with her and found her knowledge of the hotel and local area invaluable. I will be eating there again.
nice and clean and staffs are very attentive and courteous. Plenty of food choices on site and a convenient location with free shuttle for disney park and two shopping outlets. Will definitely stay at this place again next time when visiting orlando
Beware of extra charges and a management team that does not see as a guest but a walking wallet. This hotel is set in their approach of how to run their business and as long you do as you are told you will have an acceptable stay. The property is internally classified as a RESORT which provides you with no additional benefits other than an excuse for the hotel to not provide lounge access or free breakfast to Marriott Elites, but it does allow them to charge a resort fee.
When we mentioned to them that the reminder email that Marriott sent out a few days before check-in specifically stated lounge access and free breakfast, hotel management dismissed it with "That was a corporate email".
Parking is very expensive and far away. It is so far away, that they have to have a shuttle to get you back to the hotel.
For those who plan on staying here I suggest that you budget an extra $75-$100 per day in additional charges on top of your room rate.
What really bothered us is the arrogant "what are you going to do about it?" attitude of the management. They know that most of their guests are one time guests who wont come back so they don't have to work on your loyalty or experience.
So to recap:
Hotel denied Marriott Gold benefits of lounge access and breakfast even though the email stated those as benefits as part of our reservation
Parking is far and expensive
They claim to be a resort and that comes with hefty resort fees.
If you stay here, read the fine print very carefully and expect the hotel to disappoint you on some level. Or simply stay at a hotel with integrity and a desire to welcome guests.
