How to Get There
Hotel is ok, but if you're looking for a place with a pool /bar/grill to relax this isn't it. No one tells you beforehand the hotel lobby/pool entrance is under renovations or that the pool bar is closed. I would have booked elsewhere had I known.
This property is pretty close to the Orlando International Airport, but pretty far from downtown. Although we were in close proximity to the airport it was not noisy. On the contrary, it was pretty quiet and cozy. If you look at a map of the property, it is nestled in a small nook near other upscale and mid-level hotels. There are many restaurants, bars, and other amenities close by. The only negative was that when you're there you're away from it all which makes getting food and supplies a bit of a hike. They do have a small gift shop adjacent to the front lobby, but they have very few items available. Another minor inconvenience is the parking. It is a bit of a hike to get to and from self parking and although I had parking included, the machine locked me out nearly every time I came and went. On the plus side they have the new electronic key option and you do not even need to stop by the front desk to check in if you set it up correctly. Perfect if you're arriving early or late and you just want to get to your room to relax.
I would stay here again when I am not visiting the mouse in Orlando.
Overnight business trip made very enjoyable by the wonderfully courteous staff at all touch points. Front desk, valet, dining and even the housekeeping staff were all polite and helpful. I think a manager was training a new front desk clerk and he was actively demonstrating excellent service, way too go!
We hadn’t planned to stay here. Our flight from the Bahamas was delayed 2 1/2 hours, causing us to miss our flight to Houston, the last one of the day. Luckily Orlando has many hotel options and this Marriott proved to be an excellent one. It offered free shuttle service from the airport, a good restaurant that was open late, and extremely well-designed rooms that have just been renovated. The employees were very friendly and helpful, especially Sam in the restaurant. All for a very reasonable $119, booked the same day.
This hotel is well located near the airport. The rooms are dated and behind the times, but the location makes it easy to get around. Several restaurants are within walking distance. Just be careful with the alligators in the lake behind the hotel!
