The Lowdown

It’s in Orlando, but this is no Mickey Mouse operation. A member of Marriott’s Autograph collection, this 247-room high-rise is a cosmopolitan meeting place, complete with an art gallery featuring the work of local artists, the Bösendorfer Lounge jazz bar, and a gourmet restaurant, La Boheme, which specializes in aged steaks. The property’s central downtown location attracts all manner of guests—from wedding parties to business travelers—along with families who are hitting Walt Disney World.

In the Area

Its downtown location means that the Grand Bohemian is minutes away from everything Orlando has to offer, from the bars and restaurants of Church Street Station, to sporting events at the Amway Center, to art at the Orlando Museum of Art and the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum. Anything we forgot to mention? Oh yes, Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Studios, and Sea World are each less than a 20 minute drive from the resort.

Nice central location to Amway Ctr and Dr Philips Theatre

Nice spacious rooms, we were on the 10th floor, elevators move quickly, the lounge should have been much larger. I mistakenly did not make a reservation at their restaurant when I reserved the room back in late November...trying to make reservations a couple of days in advance of our stay at this hotel's restaurant or at any of the upscale local restaurants was impossible...so we took advantage of room service at the hotel and were quite pleased...the steaks arrived quickly and were still hot.

Perfect for a girls weekend!!

My girlfriends and I spent a weekend here and it was amazing! We walked to brunch, the Dr Phillips performing arts center (next door!), and to get coffee. Anything you need is close by The Poseidon spa was beautiful and we all had massages there as well. We will definitely be coming back!”

We loved our stay here. Upon check in we were upgraded to the Concierge floor. That allowed us breakfast of Eggs, Bacon, Cheese, cold cuts, etc. Our room was large with a desk and flat screen TV. Bed was very comfortable. Nice bathroom. Housekeeping was excellent. There is a fridge and a small coffee maker with Starbucks Coffee packs provided. Everything is first class from the moment you arrive and turn over your car to the Valet to check out. Beautiful bar off the lobby serving light food. A lovely full service restaurant in a separate room. Beautiful artworks . Tastefully decorated.

A 3-star hotel posing as a 5-star hotel

I just completed my second stay at the Grand Bo in Orlando and both times it has been very disappointing. I didn’t want to write a review, let alone a bad review, after the first stay because I figured they were busy and deserved the benefit of the doubt. Also, I hate negative reviews but when it;s a “luxury” hotel and people are going to be spending more money to stay there, it really ought to live up to the hype and the price.

Beginning with this stay, my wife and I booked a one night stay for a little stay-cation as we were going to see Hamilton at the theatre next door. It took quite a while to get checked-in. There were only five or six people in front of me and yet we had to sit there and wait for someone to finally help us. There were no issues until the next morning when we ordered room service. It took forever to get to our room, and then the food was awful. I ordered a burger, which was basically a charred hockey puck, and my wife ordered some fancy sandwich that turned out to be cold ham and cheese on bread. Also, the ice machine on our hall was broken, so I called down for some ice and it came 30 minutes later.

The room was very nice and the restaurant was excellent, especially our waiter Justin, he was the highlight of our stay. Other than that, the service and the hotel were really average.

Bespoke elegance combined with excellent customer focus in the heart of the city beside the Amway

Beautifully appointed hotel with bespoke furniture throughout the lobby and bar along with beautiful original artists work throughout. From the valet service through check-in at reception and room staff, the level of customer service is second to none. We arrived early and were able to check in to our room immediately. This is a beautiful hotel, rooms are beautifully furnished with beautiful linens towels and rooms have starbucks coffee together with extras available to charge to your room. Gorgeous rooftop pool overlooking the "City Beautiful". We attended a basketball game at the Amway Stadium which is only 2 blocks away so this hotel was ideal as we could walk to and from the Stadium. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to try the food offerings at this hotel but I am sure they live up to the standard of everything else Would definitely stay here again.
