How to Get There
My wife and took a quick trip to Saratoga Springs Resort in Orlando Florida May 15th and 16th. We stayed on the first floor near the pool at the Paddock area. To generalize our visit I would say it was nice, quiet and very comfortable. We stayed in a deluxe studio, bathroom was spacious, the extra wet bar area was nice to have, small refrigerator was convenient. The sofa pulls out to a bed, but was used as a sofa on this trip. The Thomasville furniture is definitely an upgrade to most hotels in the Orlando area, granite counter were very nice also. Cast members were great as usual and all of our questions and needs were addressed promptly. My wife forgot her toothbrush and another was brought up to our room within 30 minutes.
I really enjoy the spaciousness and peacefulness of Saratoga Springs especially after a long day at the parks. Its location to Disney Springs is a real plus too. I would recommend this resort to anyone coming to the Orlando area.
I have had the pleasure of staying at Saratoga Springs twice and each experience was wonderful. The pools are some of the best in the park, the grounds are wonderful to walk through with water views and bridges. The golf course is challenging and fun. One the most interesting assests is that you take a boat from Saratoga to Disney Springs making it very easy and fun. All in all Saratoga Springs is a true gen.
Set in the quiet woods along the waterway that takes you to Disney Springs is a hidden gem. Treehouses (part of Saratoga Springs Resort) are 3 bedroom houses built above ground in the trees. Elaborately decorated with full kitchens, washer and dryer, living room and beautiful deck.
The only drawback is that the remote nature of the location makes Disney bus transportation slow as you need to catch a bus from the Treehouses to Saratoga Springs Resport to catch another bus to the Disney Parks and other locations.
Stayed for the second time at Saratoga Springs resort, and was just as good the second time around. Authentic horse and jockey statues greet you at the entrance. All the furnishings and themes are Saratoga-based, with authentic memorabilia on the walls. We started our mini-vacation with dinner at the main restaurant, where we had a wonderfully sweet waitress who recommended of all things, the grilled romaine salad appetizer. It was so good and different, we came back for it a second time! We had a spacious suite w/ Jaccuzzi, but unfortunately we were on the ground floor, so our balcony wasn't very private. Also, it should be noted that the relatively few children that were there were very well-behaved. If you want to catch a water ferry to Disney Springs for a little more noise, the dock is right on the property as well. Lastly, Disney properties are practicing "green" environmentalism habits, which makes me very happy!
On our way to a cruise, we stayed overnight in a one bedroom villa. We have DVC ownership in Old Key West and Villas at Grand Floridian, but decided to try this resort for future reference. Our room was located well within walking distance to Disney Springs (in the Congress Park section). It was in good condition and well maintained. Compared to OKW and GF one bedroom villas, it's smaller but still nice and nicely appointed.
Note that Saratoga Springs resort has villas (studio, one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom grand villa) and not hotel rooms. However, this resort does have a food area & gift shop beside the check in area, a golf course snack area open to all and a restaurant also near check in.
