How to Get There
As members of the Disney Vacation Club, my family and I always stay at one of the DVC hotels when we go to Disney. Each hotel is wonderful and unique in its own right, but out of all the DVC/Deluxe resorts, Saratoga is our least favorite. The staff maintain the same level of excellent hospitality and friendliness that is seen at all other Disney resorts, but the hotel in general is a bit more run down than the others. For example, there was a tiny amount of mold on the ceiling over the shower in our room— that would have never been seen at the Grand Floridian or the Polynesian. The rooms, as well as the rest of the hotel in general, don’t seem as uniquely decorated as many of the other resorts are. The pool facilities are wonderful, as is the spa. The primary issue I have with Saratoga is with the bus service to and from the parks. They say that the busses run approximately every 20 minutes, but most of the time, we waited about 30-40. Busses from the parks ran so scarcely that the lines for them would become so long that one bus could not hold everyone, and many people would get left behind and have to wait for the next bus. Given that time in Disney is so precious, as most people don’t usually get a lot of it, having to spend roughly an hour each day waiting on busses is highly unacceptable. Other than that, Saratoga Springs is a lovely resort, but it is definitely my least favorite DVC hotel.
With a washer, drier, full size fridge, oven and microwave, this was an ideal room for our family to use as a base during our visit to Disney World.
We stayed in The Paddock, which has an excellent pool and a food outlet with a small menu, where we ate dinner one night.
The kids liked being able to unlock our room door with their magic bands.
The free bus service to Disney was excellent and we used this most days to travel to the parks. There are several bus stops, and on one occasion when we just missed a bus, we were able to walk across to a different stop before the bus got there.
Disney Springs is very close and you can walk, bus or travel by boat to get there. We tried all three methods of transportation.
The rooms were clean and tidy and very comfortable.
We used the airline check-in service when we departed, which was super convenient and meant we didn't have to lug our suitcases around the airport.
This is a great location-- walking (or boating) distance to Disney Springs, beautiful grounds. The rooms are spacious, the pool is amazing, and the service is impeccable! We had dinner one evening a the Turf Club. I had what was without a doubt the best prime rib I've ever eaten!! We aren't DVC members and sometimes the staff at the resorts seems to almost look down on you if you aren't. Not the case here. We were especially impressed with Olivia from Texas, who made us feel like we really were "home".
