How to Get There
We stayed in a two bedroom condo here at Kidani village. The room was great for two families with plenty of space. The view of the savannah from our room was also very cool. The hotel has a very convenient shop where you can get food and drinks. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Pool was also very nice.
We are a family of 5 with 3 teenagers. We stayed 5 days in a 2 bedroom villa. When we first entered the lobby, we weren't awe-stricken as if we had entered the great lobby of Animal Kingdom Lodge. The lobby at Kidani Village is much more reserved, yet still preserves the look and feel of the original.
Opposite the entrance were great windows providing an open view of the "Savannah" where we were able to see multiple species of animals resting and sometimes at play. It was impressive.
One semi-complaint, or quirk (if you will)of the lobby area that I might point out, is that the bathrooms are single occupant. I though that odd for an area with lots of folks milling about.
A quick elevator ride up, (very quick) and we were at our villa. Everyone in the family was impressed at the layout and theming of the room. Beautiful, in short, a common room/kitchen area with fold out amenities and its own balcony, a bedroom with two queen beds, its own bathroom and balcony, and yes a master bedroom with a HUGE bathroom with a full tub and shower, dual sinks etc...and yes its own balcony. We couldn't have asked for more.
Parking was great, valet was great, luggage services had no issues hauling up my families massive amounts of baggage.
Finally transportation, the bus service was great. As claimed by WDW, we never waited more than 20 minutes for a ride to or from the parks. However, after staying at Boardwalk for the last two years, we did feel a bit isolated, and the bus rides felt a bit long. Especially after a long evening at the parks.
It was a delightful stay, but because of the isolated feeling, we will not stay here again. You may feel different, but its just not our cup of tea.
We are DVC members at Kidani. The room is beautiful. However the front desk and bell service is very subpar compared to what I have witnessed in my 10 years with Disney. It is comparable to a Quality Inn. The main pool is closed until December. When we asked about this, we were told they had been "in communication with all our guests ." We have nothing in our emails and voicemails. The only pool open, kids pool was a disaster, with cups and dirty towels spewed everywhere. We experienced multiple issues with our bags, which we were blamed for not receiving them when we went back to the lobby to get them ourselves. We provided the information asked, the last 4 digits of the ticket number and were repeatedly told "well you gave us the wrong name." Which we were not asked for and had our bags held back until I asked twice if I could have my bags. It is our honeymoon, and we received AWESOME service for our first half of our stay at Boulder Ridge Wilderness Lodge. We had dinner at the Jambo House and felt like royalty with the kindness and great conversation with cast members. Compared to all other Disney experiences I've ever had, we feel cheated with Kidani. This is our only vacation in 2 years due to serious health concerns and saving for this trip. We are so disappointed to have not found the service we were looking for.
My family of 4 stayed 2 nights in a bedroom villa while we were evacuating from Hurricane Florence. We booked at the last minute so resulting in less availability. We had stayed at the Jambo House a few years ago and loved it however we didn't enjoy Kadani Village due to the long walk to EVERYTHING! It was a 10 minute walk to the lobby and about a half mile walk to Jambo House, which was the only quick service available on the property. They had a shuttle available as well however it was overall time consuming to get a simple meal. Most of the staff was kind however we at times we were disappointed in some responses to our situation at home.
I love Jambo House (the main lodge in the Animal Kingdom) so as we started making the long trek to our room I was already creating negative expectations in own head. Well, until we finally got to the room and I saw the giraffes, lots of them & so close. So all was good in the world then. I can spend hours looking at the giraffes every morning. Note: currently the pool @ Jambo is under construction so they run a shuttle between the 2 hotels, but otherwise you have a 10 min walk.
