How to Get There
The hotel was clean and the rooms were very quiet. A/C worked great and the beds and pillows are very comfy. Pool was heated and the courtyard area has couches, fire pits and games. Nothing but good things to say about our hotel stay.
The staff was not helpful or friendly with the exception of check in. Ordered room service and when it didn't come. I called to see if there was a problem. Woman was rude on the phone and told me it was on its way. 25 minutes later and still no breakfast. I called again. Again she was rude. By the third phone call, we figured out the issue, but by then, I needed to check out. If she had been willing to help the first time, we could have figured it out and I would have gotten breakfast. At checkout, the front desk person was short and did not tell me where to go to catch the bus. I needed to go outside to the street to pick up the bus for NAFEM. After sitting by the front, I realized that she had sent me to the wrong place. I then spoke to the valet, who was able to point me in the right direction. So, I wasn't sitting in the lobby all day. The room was out of date. I wasn't impressed with this hotel. I will not be going back to this hotel or any other Crowne Plaza in the future.
As an IHG Royal Ambassador (spending over 130 nights at an IHG hotel last year), I expected at least some of the basics for this status. My room is actually worse than the room I booked (I got a twin adjoining room instead of a king). Their version of an ‘upgrade’ is a basic room on a higher floor.
The mini bar is empty and no water available in my room. I had to call and pay $3 a bottle (delivered by security and room service not available).
Extremely basic and tired room. I had this hotel booked well in advance, so no excuses for giving me one of the worst rooms in the hotel.
Zero acknowledgement of my status from the staff on check in, and very miserable service all round.
Attended the NAFEM Show 2-7-19 thru 2-9-19 and stayed 2 nights at the Crowne Plaza Orlando-Universal Blvd. Lobby of hotel looks great but when I got in my room it was TIRED! Every time I flushed the commode I had to take the tank lid off and untangle the float so the flapper would close, otherwise the commode ran constantly. This happened every time I flushed. Sink would not drain, would fill up. Mechanical access above bathroom vanity was rusted and gaping hole between it and the ceiling. Carpet had seen better days. Dried fingernail polish on vanity and desk. Elements Cafe in lobby charged $18 for a buffet breakfast serving cold half cooked scrambled eggs, potatoes were far from being hot. I would never book another reservation here and would recommend others cross this place off their list too. Only good think I can say is that they had new mattresses and were comfortable.
