How to Get There
My friends and I came down from NJ to celebrate another friend’s bday at Magic Kingdom and we stayed at Boulder Ridge. Everything was wonderful!!
The main lobby was beautiful and we loved Roaring Fork and all the places you can sit and eat, enjoy coffee or just people watch. The tracker is a nice touch so you can have a seat and wait for your meal.
I enjoyed getting up early and exploring the property and appreciated all the nice touches like the railroad room in Boulder Ridge and the cool bison topiary.
Suggestions for travelers:
They will not bring your luggage to your room unless it has already been assigned. We thought they would bring it once the room number was chosen but we got to the room at 11:30 and it was not there.
Also, you don’t need to bring anything. We bought shampoo, body wash, etc and it was supplied already.
Lastly, when you go to the Roaring Fork, you have to order EVERYTHING at the counter and this includes coffee.
We had such a wonderful time and I will definitely be back.
Got a 1 bedroom room for a quick 4 day. Everything was great. We love Wilderness lodge ... direct to the room with no check in. Asked for extra towels and bath lotions ... no problem. We will be back for more fun..
I stayed at Wilderness Lodge for 2 nights many years ago and loved it, so wanted to try Boulder Ridge Villas.
We are 2 Adults and 2 kids aged 3.5 years old and the other 10 months old.
We booked via a DVC rental company and rented points for a Studio Villa - standard view.
We were in room 1516 and loved it.
The place is such a quiet haven, makes you really relax after a day at the parks.
We didn't use the main pool, only the Boulder Ridge pool and the splash pad at the main lodge. Loved both, the best thing about the Boulder Ridge pool are the cabana like structures that offer shade and loungers for FREE!! Was so great for this pale Aussie and her kids.
Things we really loved about Boulder Ridge/Wilderness Lodge
- Lobby CM's were fantastic, our Eldest DD got ill and needed medical attention they gave me brochures and within an hour a Doctor was in our room and prescribing medication. The cost wasn't astronomical and was all covered by our travel insurance - what service!
- On site activities, we loved Bingo the most, so much fun and FREE!
- The Boat to MK, what a treat that is. Getting to MK by boat is bliss and you don't have to fold your stroller in the larger boats - perfect for late nights when kids are asleep
- Artist Point storybook dining - a highlight of our trip, the Queen is worth the price of this meal alone
- The atmosphere, the place is reeking of tranquility, I absolutely adored this resort
- Our Studio room was a very large size compared to our previous rooms we stay in at WDW (usually Value resorts) we will never go back again to Values after being in Studio Villas
Thing we didn't like so much
- Roaring Fork QS, the menu is limited and the same every day. We stayed for 6 nights so it got a little "old" quickly
I've heard on some other places online that the room we were in 1516 because it overlooks the pathway that it can be noisy - we didn't hear a thing from it. The room was the quietest place I've ever stayed in, EVER!
Our 3.5 year old loved the Murphy Bed and I loved the faucets in the bathroom and vanity area, the attention to detail here was astounding. The artwork in the bathroom was also especially sweet.
Our 10 month old used the provided pack and play and it was in good clean condition and came with good clean sheets.
The storage in the room was adequate, they had two large cupboards for bags etc and a good sized dresser for clothes.
I can't wait to go back to Boulder Ridge in 2 years.
