How to Get There
Just so impressed with the history, beauty and friendliness of staff here. Right in the heart of everything. The rooms are amazing. We are so pleased with this hotel. We would definitely return. The added bonus is they are pet friendly.
We stayed in this hotel coming back from Guadalajara. We planned to stay only one night but decided to stay a second night thanks to the lovely ambiance and the views of the cathedral. We stayed in one of the rooms on the top of the hotel. The rooms are uniquely designed and have a Wonderfull bathtub overlooking the cathedral. The hotel mixes an ancient feel with a modern vibes thanks to all the attention to detail. They have a lavender plants from the elevator to the rooms which puts you in a relaxed mood before going in for the night. The room also has indirect lighting and you'll find a pair of earplugs if you really want to block all noise out. We didn't use them since the windows had double glass insulation. Although more expensive then other hotels it makes up for it be being centrally located, thus avoiding transportation expenses.
We stayed in a Master Suite for two weeks. The room was lovely and very comfortable. The terrace overlooks main street, the square and the cathedral. You can watch and listen to all the cultural life of Morelia from your terrace. The cathedral bells are noticeable when you have the door open but otherwise not too loud. Cantera 7 restaurant and bar are excellent. The hotel breakfast is very good and huge so you are fortified for a day touring the town. The staff are excellent across the board, very attentive and courteous. The kitchen prepared us a cake for a party we attended and a young man carried it 8 blocks for us. Standouts are Miriam and Gustavo in reception, our housekeeper Lilia, Gilberto in the bar and Fransisco in the restaurant. We highly recommend the hotel. Try one of Gilberto's Namaste's in the bar.
This hotel is beautiful, workers are very kind, but yeah we had a giant roach crawling in our bed calles service desk and she offered to send someone to pick up the dead roach i also saw some of the workers chasing something in the kitchen and was very notorious everyone was after something until they saw me looking I am sorry but i have stayed at many hotels but never felt as disgusted as i did i mean the hotel is not cheap not to mention our room was super stinky like humid i was just expecting more from the reviews ..
Manager Fransisco Rojas was quietly persuasive after seeing us looking at his restaurant's menu as we passed by looking for a place to have dinner last Sunday in Morelia.
We had been visiting in Mexico for a week and had enjoyed traditional Mexican cuisine. We are Canadian and that night were in the mood for something less traditionally Mexican and more international. Rojas picked up on this right away and explained that his restaurant did offer two menus each of which reflected one of those types of cuisine. I was sold.
I ordered the salmon from the international menu. My dining companions ended up ordering from the traditional menu anyway. We all had a wonderful salad. My salmon was cooked to perfection and we all enjoyed our meal. The wait staff was attentive and at the end I sought out Rojas and told him that we were so pleased with our experience that I would write a positive Trip advisor review. So this is it!
