How to Get There
The hotel and conference center are nice. The expansive area offers something for everyone. The rooms are standard hotel fare, clean and well maintained. Rooms on the courtyard side have a lot of noise that carries until 11PM. Each on site restaurant is extremely expensive $9 hotdogs, $17 burgers, $19 cocktails and $9 beers.Steak, fish etc are priced in the very high range. There are great offerings at reasonable prices a mile away on Rte 192, but the only shuttles go to Disney properties none are offered to local shopping, or dining areas other than Disney.
Uber / cab fares run $8 - $15 for the 1 mile one way trip. The walk is doable along International Dr. but there is no sidewalk and more of a warn game trail along the shoulder. The nearest restaurant is Logan's ( reasonable priced, good portions, decent food) about 8/10 of a mile 11-15 minute walk.
Unfortunately with all they have to offer I wouldn't recommend staying here as you are pretty much held hostage to the steep prices and limited shuttles. The 192 stretch is a much better option.
I surprised my then girlfriend with a weekend stay here on what ended up being our surprise engagement weekend. The weekend was a blur of activities and emotions, but the resort stood out as a remarkable cornerstone to our weekend.
I splurged and upgraded to an atrium view room. The balcony was an awesome touch and really helped the room feel larger than it was…not that it was tiny. The bathroom was very nice and the shower was a great walk in with a bench.
This was our first time staying at the resort and the SIZE of the place was incredible…it was almost hard to navigate. They have maps throughout, like the ones in a large shopping mall, to help you get around. The weather prevented us from using the pool, but it looked like a blast.
The cost of the resort is higher than I would pay for just any visit to Orlando (we travel there a lot) but for special occasions, like this one, it fits the bill perfectly!
This location was chosen by our son to celebrate his 12th birthday. The resort layout is amazing as well as the pool area and we really enjoyed our day. We live in Orlando so we are familiar with the high prices for food, drinks and all of the "extra" fees so be prepared for that. Right after we fell asleep for the night, we were awaken by the extremely loud emergency siren followed by a message to evacuate the building and do not use the elevators. We headed down to the lobby and there was absolutely zero direction. There was nobody from the hotel to guide you to where you needed to be and everyone was going in different directions. After about a 20 minutes, we found a worker and asked what happened and he said someone in a room set off the fire sprinkler and that we could go back to our rooms. No announcement, no nothing. When we got back to our room, we realized that this happened several doors down from us and the hallway was flooded. We got to listen to the cleanup all night long instead of sleeping. It really took a tole on the mood of my son celebrating his bday to the point where we just checked out the following morning instead of staying. Upon checkout, we weren't asked if we enjoyed our stay. Wonder why? If this had been a legit emergency, things could have gone real bad. real fast.
First time staying at this facility. The facility is much easier to navigate than sister hotel in Nashville. The conference area is easy to find and rooms are clearly marked. Lunch was a definite improvement over other lunches I have been served during conferences.
Not many choices for breakfast. Cocoa Bean Coffee House open 530 am serving Starbucks coffee with what appeared to be preassembled sandwiches. Not bad but not good either.
Went out for dinner every night, therefore no idea about restaurants located within.
Rooms were standard looking hotel rooms. Nothing special. A “consider it done” option located on the room phone. When you need something just press and tell them what you need. The staff is prompt getting it to your room.
A negative is that the walls are paper thin. You can hear people talking in the room next door and as you walk down the halls. Doors slamming and laughter can be heard throughout the night.
A positive—Air conditioning is great throughout the hotel and convention center.
Would not personally choose this hotel for a vacation destination.
Great hotel and perfect service everyone was so nice and accommodating. The weekend is packed so I recommend staying in the weekdays. Food is ok and typical prices for this type of resort. Definitely recommend this resort.
