How to Get There
Great spot and super service from Marie and everyone else. Tamarind cottage was perfect for two. The views, the amenities were great. The walk back from the beach after a few painkillers was rough but the view is worth it. Highly recommended
Just spent 2 days at WBV in the Sunset East/West Cottages, after a 7 day bareboat charter. The location and views are simply magnificent and it was an amazing way to relax and get ready to re-enter the world at the end of a vacation. Marianne, Bonnie, and Annette were very attentive and accommodating for what little we needed their services but the responses were immediate and thorough. We LOVE how the wind just sails through the cottages and that you are very close to the natural flora and fauna (and goats!) that roam the island. Being able to walk down the beach to the Soggy Dollar and other venues allows you to choose if you want to be chill or amped up.
Where to begin....started planning this trip in July 2018 and Bonnie was so helpful with all of my questions and then after booking with ferry info, cell phone info, provisioning, etc. We ordered groceries from Riteway, Jim was at the ferry to pick them, it was a seemless process. Maria was fantastic once we arrived, answering any questions we had and providing us with contacts for things like a dinghy rental when needed. Claudette checked on us daily to make sure we didn’t need anything. We stayed in Paradise Villa 8 which was nothing short of amazing. Large enough for 3 of us and if there would have been 4, it still would have been big enough. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need, we all loved the walk in stone shower and the woodwork and custom furnishings made by Jim were beautiful. The views were amazing and we loved spending every morning on our patio drinking coffee and watching the boats come and go. Also enjoyed the morning goat parade that happened daily, so much fun to watch. The walk to the beach was steep in areas. I would recommend something other than flip flips. But, we did it daily and then found it was worth paying $5/pp for the cab ride back. We also walked down the hill to Great Harbor every time we headed that way. I wish I could give White Bay Villas higher than a 5, we will definitely be back.
WBV are very well appointed, fully equipped, not far from Great Harbour and close to White Bay, the beach with most activity on the island. It's peacefull, relaxing with magnificent views of adjacent USVI islands of St.Thomas & St. John and Tortola, BVI.
Vehicle rental is reccomended for easy access around JVD. Bedding and linens are good quality. They have thought of almost everything, except toileteries. These are not provided, FYI. Better roof insulation would keep the Villas cooler without having to open doors, which invite insects and lizards in. But the bedroom A/C does the trick. We recommend staying at WBV and will return next summer.
Thank you Maria, Michelle, Claudette and Joy. You took great care of us. Thanks. The Paradise Villas are wonderful. Great views, great breeze. The star gazing was fantastic. It's nice to see that you've come back so well. Can't wait for our next visit to see how the landscaping has matured. Thanks again. Take care. Mike and Sue
