How to Get There
Our service upon arrival was very welcoming. We were greeted with a smile and both young ladies were willing to help with any questions we threw at them. Our room had a nautical feel and was very clean and inviting. We loved the decor. We were pleased with being able to walk to the beach and the cleanliness of the beach as well. The hotel is next to great food ...Flatbread Bar and Grill... and lots of shops. When we come back next year we will be staying here again.
The Beach House is located on the water and walking/biking distance to great restaurants and shopping. We loved Kenny B’s and Stu’s Subs and Suds.
The staff is so friendly! Mary and Geraldine took great care of our room. And Patricia kept the hallways so clean. They made our trip so enjoyable.
My husband really wanted a room with a sea view, and since we were booking last minute there weren’t many around, but we were able to find one at Beach House.
We loved Hilton Head Island itself, and the hotel’s position right on the beach was just what we were looking for.
Generally pleased with the hotel itself. The king-sized bed was comfy. The decor was pleasant. There were a few niggles, like the shower leaked a little bit. So that’s why it’s a 4 star instead of 5.
We included breakfast in our booking. The food was quite good, and the portions generous. But the choice was a bit limited. As vegetarians I’ve generally found more selection when offered a buffet style breakfast than a menu style like this hotel. But they were quite happy to do substitutions and we definitely had more than enough to eat!
If we decide to visit the island again, I wouldn’t hesitate to choose this hotel again next time.
The Beach House is located on a beautiful stretch of white sand beach of Hilton Head Island. The hotel appears a bit dated on the outside; but an ongoing renovation has been underway, and is starting to show some positive results on the inside.
The rooms are decent size, with fairly comfortable beds: though the pillows are rather tiny. Baths are a bit small though, and only have one sink, and a rather small mirror: So for a family, getting ready for dinner, etc, may be a time struggle. Also, the TV doesn’t have much of a selection: but if you’re like us, you’re here for the beach anyways.
The pool area is just ok: as it has a small weird layout; and isn’t actually that warm for a so-called heated pool. Also sadly, there’s no hot tub or spa, which is a bummer, especially in the evenings. There are some volleyball courts in the sand as you enter the beach area, adding to the activities of the resort. And the beach itself is as good as you’re gonna get on the island: which is excellent. Oh, and they show a movie poolside in the evenings, mostly for the kids: nice touch....
The restaurant, Front Porch, has a decent burger, and grouper sandwich for lunch, but the fish tacos were kind of a big mess. We didn’t have a chance to try breakfast or dinner. The pool adjacent “Tiki Bar” serves some pretty decent drinks, and the usual bar fare.
With all the above comments, I’d normally leave a 3 for my overall rating. However, the service here is something else. From the ladies at the front desk, to housekeeping, and on to the servers at the pool and bar area; the service here is much better than a typical Holiday Inn brand resort. And it wasn’t just polite or attentive, but felt very personable. Seems as though every request was met, and then some.
All n all, this ain’t a bad place at all. It’s a Decent resort, with genuine service, and a nice outdoor bar; and all a good price. And with its great beach location on Hilton Head, it makes for a great value....
This was our first trip to Hilton Head. W found it a little intimidating trying to find our way around at first, but by the time we were leaving, we felt comfortable navigating the area. This property is located right on Coligny Beach and also has a nice pool. There is a restaurant on site for breakfast, lunch, and, dinner and a Tiki Hut for live music and drinks. It is near a number of tee shirt shops and other small stores as well as restaurants all in walking distance. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Our only complaint was regarding the shower. It was very roomy and had a large rain shower head, but there was no door and no matter what we did, water poured onto the bath mat and totally soaked it. Oops, one moe concern was the pillows. While we did sleep comfortably the pillows offered a challenge because they were so soft. The mattress was very nice.
