How to Get There
My first night at the Hotel, we had dinner at Christo Restaurant. The Service was unprofessional and appeared to be no one in charge. The quality of their food was not that of a 5 Star Resort. Most of the dinner was inedible.
The rooms were less than desirable. Management was practically absent.
I will consider that they have only reopened about 7 weeks ago, however, their are much better accomadations on St Barths....
This was our fourth or fifth visit to this hotel. Our previous experiences were actually great. We were disappointed on this trip. The concierge, Stephanie, was extremely accommodating and quite helpful. That was the extent of excellence. Everything else was less than expected for a hotel of this caliber. The hotel is under new management. We got our room through book it.com and it was less than we have come to expect out of this resort. I think our biggest disappointment was in the quality of service in that it was extremely slow. You should not have to wait 45 minutes poolside to be offered service. The quality and variety for the breakfast was significantly reduced from what we had seen before. We found it to be disappointing when ordering a martini that we had to order A double in order to have a glass that did not look empty even though the martini glass was not full. What we learned was that a standard martini had one single shot of alcohol even though the cost was over $20 a drink. This was not the case in the past. When you pay for premium product such as this hotel you expect premium service and we did not get it.
This trip was so disappointing that we do not know that we will ever go back to this hotel.
Fantastic hotel with top-class service. Everyone was extremely friendly and efficient, we'll definitely be back.
The Sisley Spa is from far the best on the island and the Christo restaurant was unbelievable .Great menu with all kinds of premium meat cuts and top notch service. We have found our home in St Barths!
I guess my standards for St. Barths are pretty high. I only stayed 1 night but the room was a bit quirky and didn't feel 5 star. First of all, there are no toilet paper holders which I felt was a bit odd. Secondly, the tub and fixtures in the bathroom just didn't feel like they were of five star quality.
The property itself is well located and overall looks stunning. I love the pop of the orange they use. I only had the breakfast which was a buffet and they wouldn't offer anything to order off the menu. Sometimes you are just not in the mood for a regular old buffet and want something made fresh/hot.
I found the pillows that were used were horrendous. There were not any options in the room or in the closet and by the time I figured it out, it was too late to call the front desk and ask for anything else. They were probably the most uncomfortable pillows I have had.
This is a place I would stay again at the right price. It is good for families as well as couples. I just wouldn't expect a five star experience that I usually do at other top resorts on island.
My wife and I had another amazing St. Barths experience staying at Christopher a few years back. The resort, being small and very boutique-ish, was exactly what we wanted. We thoroughly loved every minute of our stay. Our room was stylish and fun, the food was great, the pool and views were stunning. The location was perfect to either stay in, or get out and explore the beauty of St. Barths. We love St. Barths and highly recommend Christopher for anyone wanting to visit that island!
