The Lowdown

A stylish desert retreat, We-Ko-Pa Resort and Conference Center is the perfect getaway for golfing and basking in the warm Arizona sun. Located near Scottsdale, about 30 minutes outside of Phoenix, this AAA Four Diamond hotel brushes up against the stunning Saguaro Lake and
McDowell Mountain Regional Park – think majestic views everywhere you look. Get your daily dose vitamin D lounging by the enormous pool, or perfect your game at We-Ko-Pa Golf Club, one of the main attractions here.
Numbering among GOLFWEEK magazine’s picks for Best Resort Courses, each of the club’s two offerings, Cholla and Saguaro, has a full 18 holes, and neither is too far from the 10,000-square-foot clubhouse or the golf shop (one of the 100 Best, according to Golf World Business). After a fun-filled day of
taking in the gorgeous scenery here or throughout the property, indulge in a treatment at Amethyst Spa, or treat yourself to a delicious meal at one of the seven restaurants on offer. And if you’re feeling lucky, end your night at the casino, which boasts No-Limit Poker,
Blackjack, 775 slot machines, and live bingo and Keno.

The resort’s comfortable rooms combine stylish, contemporary décor with top-

You certainly won’t have to worry about going hungry; the resort boasts seven restaurants offer a delectable range of cuisines from around the world. There’s a New York-style deli and an Asian noodle spot, but the highlight is Ahnala Mesquite Room, a
recipient of the Fest Culinary Award 2010 and Wine Spectator Award of
Excellence 2009, serving a variety of Mexican, Native American and
mesquite-grilled dishes prepared with fresh local ingredients. There’s also a lounge, poolside café and in-room dining.

Amethyst Spa features a range of treatments, from the Gentleman’s Facial
and Golfer’s Fitness Massage to a Marine Pedicure and Reflexology
treatment. The Herbal Infusion Poultice Ritual, a Native
American experience that uses a blend of desert herbs and cactus
elements to detoxify and relax the body, is especially divine.

The resort is located about
30 minutes from Phoenix, in the Scottsdale/Fountain Hills area, surrounded by Arizona’s majestic Four Peaks and spectacular Red Mountains, with the Verde River rushing nearby. If you want to make the most of this scenic setting, Fort McDowell Adventures is just minutes away, offering desert recreation like horseback riding, cattle drives and themed cookouts. Should you feel like venturing further afield, Camelback Mountain, Chase Field, Desert Botanical Garden, historic downtown Glendale, Phoenix Zoo, Saguaro Lake, Salt River tubing and Sun Devil Stadium are all less than 45 miles away.

Customer service efforts are apparent

This is the third time I've stayed at this resort, as I attend an annual conference here. I must admit there was a noticeable difference in the level of customer service and employee engagement during this visit. I must even comment on the food and drinks which seem to have been elevated from the last time I stayed. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would highly recommend it. Even the casino employees were friendly and helpful.

A great retreat away form the crowds

Just returned from a two night Summer Splash promotion .This resort was recommended by family we were visiting. As it was 95 degrees we did not check out the Ben Crenshaw golf course that is on the grounds of the resort. There is also horseback riding nearby. We did explore the Casino with hundreds of slot machines and gambling tables

Great resort!

Stayed here for a 3 day conference. Nice, clean, quiet, comfortable resort to stay at for business or just to get away for the weekend and have fun in casino. Rooms are cozy. Staff is courteous and friendly. It's a gem in the desert!

We-Ko-Pa is great for work & play
Reviewed 2 months ago

Enjoyed We-Ko-Pa so much during 3 day leadership conference that my spouse joined me for a wonderful weekend. The facilities/grounds, room, and pool were all top notch. Service during the conference, at the hotel, and in the adjacent restaurant (Anhala) were all superb. The casino was fun and the fare at Anhala was so good we canceled our reservation in downtown Scottsdale to stay and eat there again. Didn't have a chance to golf but my colleagues who did raved about the course. Coming back to this gem!
