How to Get There
We were about 10 miles from the Fashion Mall, and about 1.5 miles to the shopping commons. An excellent spot with good restaurants. We had the one bed room premium condo that was very comfortable, and well set up kitchen. Only wish they had a toaster oven.
We stay for a month in the adjacent Westin Kierland hotel every June but had an additional week this year during the Phoenix Open. The hotel was full, so we booked a Westin Villa as an alternative. The property is of a high standard, we had a premier villa with maid service overlooking the golf course, and the communal areas are very well kept. Unfortunately, the weather ( end of January/ beginning February) wasn’t warm enough to enjoy the pools and outdoor dining. The shuttle service is excellent, and it is needed, as walking to the restaurants in the Quarter is quite a hike. We felt a bit isolated staying in the Villas and kept gravitating back to the hotel for the buzz that it offers. As bookable accommodation, we won’t be returning to the villas as we prefer the hotel. We did do the show round of the property to understand how the Vacation club worked, but it isn’t for us. Overall, very nice and the staff are lovely, but a bit out of the way...
The Villas are a resort ownership property that caters to middle aged plus owners who spend a week or two a year at the complex. Others stay there in unused rooms reserved through Marriott or through the marketing efforts that offer low cost stays as an enticement to purchase there. The property itself offers nice swimming pool options, a decent gym and a good café. Guests can also use the facilities of the hotel including restaurants and spa. For golfers, the course onsite is within walking distance. The property itself is well maintained and gives the feel of an apartment complex. There are 2 room types; a small 1 bedroom with efficiency kitchen with limited outdoor light and a larger 1 bedroom with full kitchen and more windows. These can be combined to create a 2 bedroom that sleep 8. Some units have great views; others of the parking lot. The location is suburban and is a 20 minute ride to the center of Scottsdale. Shopping and restaurants are nearby with some walkable. Noise can sometimes be an issue including airplanes from a nearby airport as well as outdoor noise for the pool, common and parking areas. The staff is quite helpful and friendly.
We are SPG owners and this is our favorite resort. It’s in a great location and always well kept. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially the shuttle crew. They are renovating rooms and the one we had was beautifully updated.
We spent 4 nights in a double unit (7 guys) and the accommodations were very nice. there is a late night hot tub that was great after golf. The location is very central to anywhere in Phoenix/Scottsdale. The cots had Heavenly mattresses and were very comfortable. I would highly recommend this resort.
