How to Get There
The Westin Kierland Villas is a beautiful and relaxing place. The suites are tastefully furnished and spotless. The bathroom is particularly inviting. Public areas are very well kept and welcoming. Loved that it was close to shopping and restaurants. Highlight is the accessibility to the facilities at the Westin Kierland Resort, a short walk away.
This is our first time staying at the villas, but not our first summer trip to Scottsdale. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary and our 9 year old daughter, her birthday while at the resort for a week.
As others have stated, the resort amenities are fantastic for families. When we checked in, super nice and helpful Jenny checked us in, managed to get us in the same room for all our days (we had a few separate reservations, which is our fault). She also made spa/golf/dinner appointments, sent over Anniversary champagne, and a stuffed animal for my daughter’s birthday. By staying at the villas, you also get access to amenities at the next door Westin Hotel which includes another water slide, lazy river and large pool.
Our daughter spent the week at Surf Camp over on the resort side, and while spendy, was certainly an positive and fun experience for her. She rode the FlowRider, swam, made friends, created artistic objects, and most importantly, said her counselor Ashley was attentive, supportive and helpful. My daughter’s tooth fell out in camp. Ashley put the tooth in a ziplock bag and took a picture of the moment for us, for which we were thankful. The same can be said for counselor Dylan, who was extremely polite, engaging and helpful with our child. There is no greater value, I think, than knowing your child is safe and happy, while my husband and I were golfing on property.
The room was quiet. We were in building 3, and had a great view of the golf course. It’s mice to have a washer/dryer in the unit, and a small kitchen. We were there during the monsoon, and while it certainly did a number on the trees, pool and golf course, the entire staff there had that place cleaned up and running like clockwork the next day. People are very friendly, and great with kids. They certainly have adult options on property, relaxation pools, a spa, several bars .. but those days are a ways off for us.
We would come back, without hesitation.. We had zero pressure to sit through timeshare presentations. We are not owners if any vacation property, nor do we wish to be, and no one there attempted to make us feel any other way. Vacation is meant to be relaxing, restful and easy, and the Westin Kierland Villas certainly was that for us.
The resort pool is small, too crowded to enjoy the pool at the resort. Families are allowed to use the pool at the hotel which is much larger, cleaner and water looked clean and fresh. The Resort hotel is over crowded, too many people!! The villas are nice, they have new décor and some other upgrades such as the fridge, washer/dryer combo. The BBQ area is great.
Great place to stay, parking is a little tight, on sight resturants, 24 hrs pool in designated area, room service was always on time or a little before time, food is good, free shuttle to stores near the villas, kids club, golfing, can use the lazy river pool at the hotel
Excellent property, villas and staff. Location is near shopping, dining and other activities. The staff is very friendly, helpful and offered great suggestions on places to visit. I highly recommend the Westin Keirland Villas and resort.
