How to Get There
I absolutely loved this resort. I went with two of my girlfriends and we had the best time. The rooms were modern, clean, and spacious. The staff was very accommodating. We spent a day at the Agave Spa and it was so relaxing. We also rented a cabana at the adults-only pool one afternoon and it was great. The cabana rental included frozen grapes, chips and salsa, and bottled water. Great staff and make sure you eat at the restaurant Deseo while you are there. Highly recommend the ceviche. Kudos to Aron and his staff for a delicious meal and atmosphere.
We would have preferred to stay at the Westin Kierland Villas, to have a living room to relax in while our daughter slept (especially since weather wasn't ideal for sitting on the balcony while our daughter slept). Unfortunately the villas were cost prohibitive for our vacation dates.
Stayed in a traditional room with a Golf View. Good room option for quiet nap times, since the room is on the other side of the building from the pools.
Good parts of our stay:
Baby and toddler amenities for the room, including crib, potty, step stool and a mini fridge for storing snacks
Great cold and hot buffet breakfasts
Nice spa facilities (don't need to get a spa treatment to use the facilities)
Frustrating parts of our stay:
Kids Club and dinner child watch are strictly for ages 4+
Not a ton of activities geared towards toddlers
Dinner options were limited and slow
Customer service was so so, staff weren't particularly friendly or overly helpful
Was here for 5 days on business conference and also holiday time. Conference facilities were excellent and the service exceeded expectations. Food was high quality, breakfast buffet was great and the Sunday Brunch was excellent, plus bottomless champagne. We reserved a cabana at the adult pool one day and had great relaxation and attentive service for food and drinks. Large pool and lazy river were enjoyable too. Overall a great experience. will return!
Spent 3 nights at the Westin during Spring Break (mid-April). Overall we had a great time. We booked a suite which was great because it allowed for separate from our kids (the living room and bedroom are separated by a door). Our kids slept on a fold-out couch which was pretty comfy.
We actually did not utilize the hotel restaurants all that much. With plenty of dining options in Scottsdale we were comfortable driving around for restaurants that looked more to our liking and were close by. We did eat at Deseo one night while our kids did the pajama party/babysitting and that was a good meal. But if you are staying for several nights it didn't seem like the restaurants offered enough variety.
The pool was nice - VERY kid friendly with the lazy river, shallow pool, and very slow waterslide. However like many resorts getting chairs was an issue. People start lining up at 7:30 for 8:00 pool opening so they can put towels down. We even reserved some chairs one day which was great in the morning, but in the afternoon they are in direct sun and therefore pretty uncomfortable.
Tons of activities for kids and adults - fitness classes, arts and crafts, sports, etc. Overall we enjoyed our stay. I thought it was a bit expensive for what we got but I would certainly consider staying there again if go back to Arizona.
We came here as a family to celebrate my Dads 70th and play some golf together. The weather was fantastic but I can’t say the same for the resort I’m afraid. The breakfast buffet was exactly the same everyday, as we had breakfast included we had to have the buffet, so if you want pancakes you can’t have them unless you pay separately. There is very little choice, undercooked potatoes, herby sausages and an egg counter and some streaky bacon. If you ask for poached eggs it takes an extra ten minutes. Breakfast aside, there is a lack of decent restaurants at the hotel, we went to the golf course for lunch most days as it was nicer there. The adult pool is nice and the lazy river was good fun, drinks by the pool are quite expensive though. The course was fantastic and I loved it but the hotel was quite poor. They dumped $250 of ‘charges’ on our room bill which when we questioned they didn’t know what it was for and took it off. If you are vegetarian (I am not) there is only a polenta option at Deseo restaurant other than that you are stuffed. We had a lovely time but I will not be going back
