How to Get There
This was my third stay at Wild Horse Pass for business. One time I managed to sneak in some ‘me time’ by the pool, but every other time it has been meeting rooms, hotel bar, bed.
I notice the food at WHP is better than most business hotels, and out catered lunches (even box lunch sandwiches) were great.
Rooms were always clean and comfy, the only drawback being with a propriety this size you end up doing a LOT of walking. Insider tip: find the oath to your room from OUTSIDE the hotel and enjoy the lush grounds instead of the tangle of hallways inside.
I thought the rooms were a bit pricey, but given the prox to Sky Harbor and level of comfort/convenience it’s not unreasonable.
My wife, daughter and I decided we had enough with the cold in the Midwest, so we decided to find someplace warm. We did very little research, and ended up at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass near Phoenix. It was a fantastic decision. Easy access from the airport, friendly and helpful staff, and beautiful accommodations. We enjoyed eating at the Hanyo Grill by the pool each day for lunch. The pool food was delicious, and reasonably priced. Pool-side server Ryan P deserves special recognition for being fantastic---clearly enjoys helping others and was a delight. We took advantage of the desert walking trails, the pools, and the complimentary shuttle to the casino (excellent dinner there) and the outlet mall. The staff at the Sheraton was very helpful. Our room had very comfortable beds, and the bathroom had both a deep tub and stand-alone shower, which we appreciated. Overall, we would highly recommend the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass, and look forward to staying again.
My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 has to do with the Sheraton brand itself - namely the double bed situation. If my husband and I want to travel with kids, we have to share a double bed. It simply doesn’t work for us and makes for long restless nights. If they would upgrade their 2-bed rooms to queens I would be a much bigger fan of Sheraton.
The rest of this resort is simply beautiful. As Marriott Elite members, we had the Elite suites on the ground floor which was great for access to the resort.
If you have the opportunity to accept reward coupons for breakfast do it! Their continental breakfast is the best I’ve ever seen - includes a cold meats and cheese spread if you’re looking for some good protein options. They also allow the full hot buffet for a $10 upcharge. Or spend $30 on the menu. Good deal.
Their on site restaurant has excellent food! And the bar had great drinks - especially the old fashioned! Drinks are pricey so beware. Good wine selections.
We booked this resort through Allegiant Air and weren’t disappointed at all. Room was very nice and the staff was wonderful. We enjoyed the pool and service staff took great care of us. You won’t go wrong if you book a stay with this resort.
Wonderful place but hang on to your pocket book and credit card not inexpensive place! Hotel grounds were spectacular, Restaurants were good as the lounge was and the room in the preferred section was just average for the price.
