How to Get There
The Good: Loved Megan at the front desk, she was really helpful with modest requests. Nearly empty gym is well-equipped and open very generous hours. Nice focus on the Gila River Indians, whose reservation you are on; artifacts and mini-tutorials abound but are not oppressive (e.g. Aulani). Restaurant was awesome, they have s'mores and pool movies for kids at sundown. I didn't use the golf course, but it looks immaculate. Quiet place out on Reservation, nice distance from the freeway. There are real animals on the Rez, saw a live coyote and bobcat! The Bad: Sleep quality was poor due to small, uncomfortable bed. Smallest full I've ever slept on, best for those under 5'10" staying alone. It is a tad remote; I don't know how anyone could rate this place as walkable. Light pollution occludes what might be a beautiful view of the night sky, even in the grassy area they advertise for this purpose. And yes, everybody hates a $29 Resort Fee. A/C was so-so; it was quiet, but temperature seemed to fluctuate more than we would have liked.
Let me start off by saying this is a lovely property. It is tucked back out of the city, the desert landscape is nice and it’s pretty quiet. The Staff were very kind, helpful, and professional. The pools are nice and my children loved the water slide. I’m giving 3 stars for the rooms. Our rooms seemed on the shabby side. We were able to get adjoining rooms (which was great because they are SMALL) but the air conditioner unit in the room my husband and I stayed in was so loud, it would wake us frequently in the night. Also the curtains had holes all over in them. My daughter pointed out a pretty heavy cobweb situation over the sliding glass door in their room (like it had been weeks? months? since cleaned) The toiletries were plentiful but lacked things I assumed would be there (like most resorts offer) shower caps, q-tips, cotton balls, etc. The bathrooms were a nice size, roomy shower (however, leaked water all over) with a large separate tub. I guess overall for the price we paid for two rooms a night, all those extra hotel fees, I just expected cleaner, fresher, more spacious rooms, an air conditioner that didn’t sound like one you’d hear rattling at a cheap motel, and those little extras I mentioned above that you’d expect to be included with the toiletries. Would I stay here again? Nope, I’ve stayed at nicer hotel resorts in Phoenix and the surrounding areas for better prices and much better overall experiences.
Visited our grandchildren in early June, so we decided to stay here because of the pools, the slide, and other resort activities. Our grandchildren are teens, so the pools were disappointing because they are very shallow and designed for young children. The free boat ride only runs on certain days, and it no longer goes to anywhere; it's just a short ride. We didn't do the boat ride or other outdoor activities because it was just too hot. The location was good, as we had a rental car, and it was not a long drive to restaurants, shopping, and even the airport. Beware that there is a $29 per night resort fee, but they did have free self-parking.
We stayed at this resort for a few days in June 2019. It was an awesome stay. Everyone was professional and extremely friendly. All our needs were attended to in a timely fashion. Definitely an A+ resort and will be back again .
This hotel is wonderful! The pool is so nice and it is close to the casino with a short free shuttle ride! The rooms are nice and clean and the grounds are always beautifully manicured. We like coming here for a weekend staycation!
