Overview

Intimate jungle getaway with four-star dining and abundant activities, from surf to spa, on Costa Rica's Pacific coast

The Look

Originally built as a private residence, this rustic resort on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast provides the utmost in jungle seclusion. From the almondwood casitas and cozy hammocks to the bamboo bar and candlelit dining space, the intimate retreat has a breezy, tropical vibe. Latitude 10 is surrounded by lush jungle in nearly all directions, but it also boasts spectacular Pacific Ocean views thanks to its location on the Nicoya Peninsula. And it’s just a 15-minute walk to a stretch of private beach.

Bed and Bath

The property’s five open-air casitas have a secluded, jungle feel. They’re constructed completely from Costa Rican almondwood, dressed in white linens and decorated with local art. All casitas come with such mod cons as minifridges and free WiFi, though the Master Suite is worth the splurge for the private deck and ocean views.

Beyond

While the Latitude 10 is well suited to a romantic getaway, with its private pool, beach and tranquil spa, the resort also offers a wide range of outdoor activities that families will love, from surfing lessons and kayaking to horseback riding and canopy tours. After a day of adventure or relaxation, don’t miss out on an indulgent dinner in the clubhouse, where Latitude’s full-time chef serves local dishes like fresh tuna in mango and pineapple salsa from an open kitchen.

In the Area

The resort is just three miles from the 7,560-acre Cabo Blanco Absolute Nature Reserve, a local hot spot for watching wildlife. Don’t miss the famous Montezuma Waterfall Canopy Tour, during which you’ll zipline through the canopy and take in the views of the forest and waterfalls. Cool down with a Seascape Kayak Tour, when you’ll be sure to see sea turtles, monkeys and pelicans. Let someone else take the wheel with a cruise around Isla Tortuga, where you can sip tropical drinks while marveling at Costa Rica’s diverse marine life.

Very authentic yet luxury beach experience

Latitude 10 is lovely and authentic beach resort in Santa Teresa with only a few rooms (6). It’s location is a bit remote from the busy beaches and streets of Santa Teresa but you can still use the bikes of the property to go to the center of town and enjoy the many restaurants and boutiques around.
Our villa was right on the beach, where you can wake up with the sound of the waves. We stayed in the superior villa and really enjoyed the experience of this open air room, which got all prepared in the evening by the staff who added lots of candles everywhere, making it very private and romantic.
We also enjoyed the open air bathroom which gives you a great connection with the surrounding nature.
Breakfast was really good too, facing the swimming pool.
A place I definitely recommend for couples or families alike.

Lovely gem at Santa Teresa

Not only Santa Teresa is amazing and beautiful, Latitud 10, is a lovely gem located at the end of the beach, it has a wonderful view where you can relax over the sunsets. The villas are secluded and decorated with a wonderful and simple good taste. The food, is delicious and tons of gluten free options. The entire hotel crew is super sweet, fun and very hospitable making sure you are 100% confortable. Been an ecological hotel, there’s no a/c, but there was no problem,we had fans close to each bed and the room is service around 4pm to get beds ready. There is no use of plastic on premises they are very conscious on that side. They have an activity in place to clean the beach and as a reward you get a piña colada in them. We as a family gave some time while walking the beach and filled up some of the sustainable bags and got to enjoy the treat. It was fun and we recommend to visit, is a different experience and very close to nature and relaxation!
Around Santa Teresa there are tons of great restaurants. Bring the cash, some of the restaurants don’t take cc. We had a lovely time. Thank you to the hotel crew for making this experience a great one. We look forward to come back in the near future

AMAZING resort, staff, restaurant and tours

Latitude 10 is an amazing resort to stay at in Santa Teresa / Playa Hermosa area. We stayed there for our honeymoon and it was everything we dreamed of.
The private casitas, natural environment and surroundings, beach front location, luxurious accommodations... The staff is sooo friendly, attentive, caring, and happy to provide all kinds of recommendations for eating out and entertainment. Our tour guide Douglas is a pro! He is extremely knowledgable, constantly telling us about the region's history and teaching about us the local flora and fauna during our excursions. You can tell he really cares and has a sincere love for nature.
The entire staff is A+, from the clubhouse, facilities, room care, landscapers, all just amazing and caring people. And the FOOD, wow, really the best food and drinks we had during our entire week. Of course we recommend exploring around and trying local spots, but seriously, their kitchen makes exquisite luxurious cuisine, using all natural and local ingredients. And we love how this resort and the Cayuga chain are serious about their environmentally friendly and sustainable practices.

We can't recommend it enough and look forward to return in the future.
