Set your clock to island time with a getaway to sleepy Ambergris Caye, known for its pristine beaches, sandy roads and laid-back vibe. This postcard-pretty sliver in the Caribbean Sea lures sun-seekers looking to avoid the tourist hordes and adventurers, who come to explore the Belize Barrier Reef, the second-largest in the world. Thankfully, there’s also more than enough beach for everyone, with the country’s 240 miles of coastline (including 12 on this particular island).
Right on one of the beaches sits Belizean Shores Resort, with spacious suites, plus the tropical standbys you’d expect: hammocks, palm trees and colorful accents everywhere. Here, you’ll find a breezy, relaxed atmosphere. Kick back beside the huge pool, go for a dip in the sea, or nosh on fresh seafood. If you feel like exploring, hop on a boat to the charming town of San Pedro (Madonna’s famous “La Isla Bonita”), take advantage of the activities available at the resort, from diving and snorkeling to sailing and kayaking, and don’t be surprised when that island time flies.

How to Get There
We had a wonderful stay at the Belizean Shores Resort! The apartment was perfect for our family of 4 (2 adult kids) and pool with pool-side bar were fantastic. The hammoks on the beach-side dock were also wonderful to relax in, WE also enjoyed the little restaurants right across the street. A great/relaxing stay!
Needed a break from work and came here to relax. Could not have asked for a better place to stay. The staff was so nice and polite and was always making sure our stay was the best. When we checked out the front desk clerk” Pedro” stood outside with us and talked while we waited for our ride to the water taxi. We would never have gotten this kind of treatment in the States and will definitely come back. Villa was clean , comfortable and relaxing.
Enjoyed staying in a condominium. Beautiful property with nice swimming pool, bar and beach access. Good free rentals- kayaks etc.
Very courteous staff ready to help.
Enjoyed fresh coconut water - courtesy of their gardener.
